To be falling in love with Fox Mulder all over again

Anyone watching the full whack of box sets on prime?

He's still hot and weird. This show has aged so well. I watched it (probably unwisely) as a young teen and was thoroughly scared shitless from about age 11 onwards.

He's still most lovely.

Cantankerous He was also in a (brilliant) film called Kalifornia

5000KallaxHoles · 13/09/2018 13:18

I'm just here to placemark for the photos :D

He was still rather easy on the eye in the recent episodes as well.

CantankerousCamel · 13/09/2018 14:31

Oooo thanks! Will put it on the watch list

Raspberry10 · 13/09/2018 14:35

Still on my ‘would’ list Grin. That said I was 21 when it started and Mulder was a sexy older man. Now I’m 46 and in the early eps he looks young enough to be my much, much younger brother. Still love the show though.

PippilottaLongstocking · 13/09/2018 17:43

purpleflower I didn’t know that! Kyle MacLachlan is my biggest crush

havingabadhairday · 13/09/2018 18:15

Fox Mulder back then? Yes please!
Now? Not so much.

Dana Scully, she's still hot and I still would.

This thread is making me want to watch proper X-Files again - the first four or five seasons maybe?

Early night for DS I think. There's a bottle of wine in the fridge as well. GrinWine

PurpleFlower1983 · 13/09/2018 20:18

@havingabadhairday Agree, seasons 1-4 were absolutely awesome, the season 4 finale/season 5 opener (Gethsemane/Redux) were truly epic! Season 5 had some excellent episodes but I didn’t like Diana Fowley at all which ruined the myth arc. I liked the first film too but the series was never the same after it moved to California from Vancouver. There were some good (and some amazing) episodes but it marked the decline IMO.

PurpleFlower1983 · 13/09/2018 20:20

@BevBrook Same here! I used to sit cross legged in front of the TV shaking with excitement HmmGrin

For anyone interested he is in Manchester in February!

delphguelph · 13/09/2018 21:37

Oh go on then fox, let's be having you, pants off and up them stairs

Grin
delphguelph · 13/09/2018 21:38

Can't believe people used to dress like skully

PunkAssMoFo · 13/09/2018 22:29

I re-watched the whole lot early in the year when series 11 was on. I’d totally missed series 7-9 the first time round (it coincided with my late teens and going out drinking). Have just finished watching them again. Blush The x files is my happy place and I’ve become a ‘shipper’ again.

DD is hot, but I have total girl crush on GA. she’s amazing in The Fall too and I even sat through Robot Overlords to watch her.

They are fantastic actors.

PatatasBravasSi · 14/09/2018 21:00

I used to be so obsessed with the X-files, though I gave up before the end. The early seasons were definitely the best.

Total crushes on both the main characters too. It's definitely Fox Mulder that I fancy though, not David Duchovny. I'm having a google perve at the moment and being melted by this image...

Galvantula · 14/09/2018 21:41

😍

Lellochip · 14/09/2018 22:10

I was relatively late to X files, biiiinged the whole show around 2008ish? My hair has been "Scully-red" ever since lol. Loved Mulder then, but the Gillian girl-crush is still going strong 😍

havingabadhairday · 14/09/2018 22:33

He was so adorable!

cheesefield · 15/09/2018 20:50

Sorry all, reviving this because I've had 2.5 glasses of wine and ABSOLUTELY MUST share this clip of the ending of my favorite episode.

FM in the last 20 seconds. Puurrrrrrr. You're all welcome.

Bumping for the pissed.

OP posts:
maxiflump1 · 15/09/2018 21:47

Oh yes that smouldering look he gives her when her pulls her in...... purrr! Generally I didn't like the slightly comical episodes but this was in an exception purely for those last 20 seconds. And I'm 20 weeks pregnant so definitely not pissed!

cheesefield · 15/09/2018 21:59

That's the bit I want. I swear age 15 I must have done a rewind on my VCR a million times.

Which i'm definitely not doing age 35 while DP is out....

OP posts:
cheesefield · 15/09/2018 21:59

You didn't like that ep?

OP posts:
LadyMonicaBaddingham · 15/09/2018 22:07

I've been semi in love with David Duchovny since Red Shoe Diaries. The X files being on prime is my life now. DH can't stop laughing, which is, frankly, really rather rude

maxiflump1 · 15/09/2018 22:08

@cheesefield Mmm it was just ok: the ending redeemed it. As a bit of a die hard fan of the conspiracies in the show I often found these episodes a bit frustrating: the time warp cruise ship one and that awful one from early on with Clyde whatever he's name is who predicted how people were going to die to name a couple. Although I did love the lake placid style one with quequag the dog.

cheesefield · 15/09/2018 22:18

@LadyMonicaBaddingham My DP is like Oh good, we're watching the only man you would ever leave me for. But I swear he's gotten pissed before and agreed with me that if Fox was not a fictional character I would be perfectly justified.

@maxiflump1 I know it's a cheese ep, but come on. It's the only film noir/comic style episode, and it's great fun even if it's not serious X Files. You didnt even rewind Mulder pulling Scully into his arms to dance once?

OP posts:
maxiflump1 · 15/09/2018 22:20

@cheesefield as I said I did enjoy this particular episode and certainly did rewind those last 30 seconds several times!!
