I was talking to a friend who is mixed race. She was telling me that her DS who is 5 was at school and had eaten lunch and as most 5 year olds do got some down his front. Another child of a similar age said to him “your jumper is now as filthy as your face!’ And he school have done nothing. They refuse to give my friend the child’s parents details so they can discuss it, they refuse to talk to the child and his family themselves. I am absolutely horrified and disgusted by what was said and can’t bekive no action is being taken.

school have done nothing.

If they have reported this it is unlikely that the school have done nothing.

They refuse to give my friend the child’s parents details so they can discuss it,

If you mean that they won't give them details of sanctions against the other child they won't. They are free to discuss it with the school.

they refuse to talk to the child and his family themselves.

How does your friend know this?

I am absolutely horrified and disgusted by what was said and can’t bekive no action is being taken.

If no action has been taken then yes it is disgusting. But you are receiving second hand information that may not be correct.

What was said is not necessarily racist. If the child was a messy eater they may well have had food on their face as well. You are inferring from third hand information something that may be a totally innocent remark. Also you are talking about 5 year olds who generally just say what pops into their head and assuming malice. Lastly why would the school give your friend any details about another child and break confidentiality?

How do you know the child's face wasn't filthy?
