Not really AIBU but more like am I overthinking....
We have had our foster child (7) for 18 months - and last week he started mainstream school for the first time having previously been in a referral unit since age 5. He has full time 121 TA as he has issues with concentrating, keeping on task etc although his actual ability is on track.
I joined some local FB groups for parents as we are new to the school, and everyone was really welcoming even arranging a park date so he could meet other kids in the class before term started.
But now I'm really worried - a week in and he's not spent more than an hour in class before the TA has to take him out for being disruptive. Today was particularly bad as he kept going into other classrooms and disturbing their lessons. I so want him to succeed and he needs to learn how to behave in a more socially acceptable way so that he has those skills for later life - but on the other hand, is it really unfair on all the other kids for him to be there? If I was one of the other parents I really hope I'd understand but can totally get why they might not...
Has anyone else had experience of this - from either side? It's very early days I know so fingers crossed it will settle down...
