I live by a secondary school, there is a bus stop by the school. It goes 3 stops then terminates at the station. I never get on this bus usually I walk down. However today I was coming from the town centre. As that bus approaches the stop no exaggeration but atleast 40 school children are stood at the stop, the bus stops and they begin to board but stay downstairs, obviously they dont all fit so the driver is asking them to go upstairs or move down the bus. The ones that are on the bus refuse and ignore his request to do anything other than just stand there. So the driver shuts off the bus and refuses to move!

The secondary school children continue to ignore him, This goes on for 10 minutes! with other school children running over to get the bus aswell, Why they cant use that energy to walk down the hill I dont know?! Eventually after a stand off he drives away. Aibu to think they should walk the 3 stops! I dont understand why he even stops to let them on, its not even 3 stops its more like 2 as the 3rd one is where it terminates! Its no wonder children are obese. Aibu to wish bus drivers would boycott this stop so they are forced to walk?

How far is it to the terminal? What’s the time difference walking vs getting the bus?

I would complain to the school about the children though, most schools take a very dim view of the public complaining about their pupil’s behaviour.

You could ask the transport authority.

That attitude royally gets my goat.

Commuting in past years, I used to be really frustrated by half empty buses roaring past my stop, as the bottom decked was rammed and the driver wouldn't take any more passengers.

The upper deck would be almost completely empty.

I see it on my way into work now.

I start in the bus station, so I get a seat.

On trying to get off, the aisle to the door of the bus is crowded with people even though there are seats.

More than once, I've not been able to fight my way past the crowd and the driver has closed the doors and moved off before I was able to get to the door.

posted to soon, excellent idea about complaining to the school. I never thought of that, I rarely get the bus because I cant because its always packed. I regularly see the drivers having trouble witth them.

That would be half the distance ds walks to the station, I can't imagine anyone getting the bus the distance he goes. How odd!

They all do! because its free I guess, why walk when you can get a free ride 😒

If it’s an easy 10 mins walk (no dangerous crossings and such) then it does surprise me so many children need to get the bus. I was a lazy teen, and even I would have walked that (probably to grab a chocolate on the way home Blush).

Ring the school and ask for a senior member of staff like the deputy head os available. Tell them which bus is was, the time and make it clear the children’s behaviour was an embarrassment to the school and caused disruption to your (and other people’s) day.
