To think using months until age 2 makes sense?

Pre child I would have rolled my eyes at anyone who said their child was x amount of months (unless under 1) but actually now I have a 14 month old it makes sense!! A 13 month old & a 22 month old are both 1 but there's so much difference! Today a woman asked how old, said she's 14 months... she went 🙄 So she's 1 & 1/2. She was a mum, so I sort of expected her to get the months thing. Does it annoy you? What do you say? I might just say she was 1 in July! I get asked how old she is about 200 times a week. I mifht just start saying she's 472 days old Grin (or there abouts) to really get a reaction.

Nope. Months up til one. 22 months etc is daft. Nearly 2 works fine instead.

I remember seeing a thread on here once and the op had posted that her son was 33 months old.
Whatever her op was about wasn’t discussed.
Most posters were scathing about the 33months.
I have a Grandson who is 2 years and 9 months so if asked I will say he’s 3 in xxx month
I also have a son who is 486 months old 😂😂

Most clothes use years after 12-18 months as well, if I remember correctly...

No sorry you have remembered it wrong. There is an 18-24.

Having said that I agree with the posters who said months up to 18 months then 1 and a half, almost 2, then years. I would never say 19 months or 22 months etc.

The woman who rolled her eyes at 14 months was wrong and her maths is questionable. It's fine to say your child is 14 months.

I normally just say when their birthdays are. I said she was 2 in December up until the end of June and now say she'll be 3 in December.

I have a 14 month old too, I was at a wedding last week and was asked about 500 times how old he was. I either said 14 months (only realised he was actually 14 months that day when someone asked and I thought about it) or I replied he was one in July. Saying one is a bit vague. I usually say months until 18 months then I'll say he/she is 2 in... Then it's 2, 2 1/2 and nearly 3.

One. Just over one. One and a half. Almost two. Two. HmmHmm

I think months is fine up to about 16 months. After that, one and half, nearly two, two etc.

GoodbyeSummer · 10/09/2018 23:03

My children are 76 and 88 months old.

Fullofthought · 11/09/2018 00:20

I'm nearly 360 months on the 23rd lol

FranticallyPeaceful · 11/09/2018 00:23

If you use months after age one then you’re a right plank

TheDarkPassenger · 11/09/2018 00:24

I’ve had three and I still roll my eyes.
