To be disappointed with Bulb

Recently switched to Bulb.

Not even paid my first direct debit and they've emailed me to say my monthly payments will increase by up to £15 a month!

Typical.

Off to look at other suppliers and will be looking for a fixed price.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Look on my bill to confirm day and night tariff. Go to various comparison websites to find the cheapest. Bulb, even though it is variable is one of the cheapest. You can adjust your payments yourself on line, once you have a few incoming bills.

I have just switched to Bulb and I am delighted with my bill. Gone from EDF wanting a direct debit payment of £220 to £95 per month.
Yes, they have just announced price rise but still saving a fortune. Really simple service. And if you use my referral code you get £50 credit to your account. Honestly best decision I have made

Scottish Power just upped my DD for electricity only from £70 to £100pm (no mains gas, no mobile signal for smart meter) because they 'didn't believe vthe meter readings I was sending in.

I' m going to record them monthly with a photograph and time stamp then change when I have enough info to change.

OP if you are going to switch to Octopus and you want a £50 credit you can use my code httpswww.share.octopus.energy/shy-goose-191

I didn't have good experience with EDF, complete rip off. When it came to leaving I was in credit, but when final bill came out I owed £189. Bulb completely different, bills are easy to understand

I am with Bulb and so far am really happy with them .They are over £79 pm than the co operative energy who i used to be with .They emailed me recently to tell me how much energy i have used and i have by choice chose to increase my dd by £20 pm which is a lot cheaper than my previous dd with co op .I like the fact that they tell you if your usage has gone over your dd amount that way you can higher your dd to avoid arrears .I will be staying with them at the moment .

I’ve left and gone back to Eon, I pay £93 per month with Eon. Bulb told me I’d be paying £87 so obviously was ecstatic as paying £135 with EDF at the time. First payment was fine second payment had an increase, then the third as did the fourth. Before I knew it I was paying close to £200 a month! Thy is just not at all accurate so I’ve left and now I lay the £93 and much happier.

Sorry to hear this OP. Doesn't surprise me sadly. These energy companies reel people in with promises of lower bills, but the quotes they give are often artificially low, and as soon as they can, they will bump up the prices.

I have been with British Gas forever, and will probably never change, no matter how much the other energy companies try to tempt me, or how much Martin Lewis rants on about how 'we should all be changing energy suppliers!'

My electric for a modest sized 3 bed detached house is £33 a month. (2 adults living here.) Even with kids at home, it was never over £50 a month.

@savingthepennies

I would be questioning the energy company, or switching back to your old one!

I know at LEAST half a dozen people who changed suppliers (after being taken in by promises and propaganda,) and they regretted it, for a myriad of different reasons.

Well. That zombie thread panicked me somewhat.

£75 off for a limited time!!

I've been with Bulb for a year and they are excellent. 100% renewable energy and no contract, lowest price etc.

They have just sent me a notification that they are increasing the referral bonus for anyone signing up with my link up to midnight on Wednesday 15th May.

Please feel free to use my link: www.bulb.me/peterk9464 and you and I both share £150! (£75 each! )

thanks

We switched to Bulb about 18 months ago and the switch was so easy and all done for us. We save on average about £45 a month which is fantastic. Bulb email me when its billing time to remind me they are taking a direct debit.
This month they sent me a little poem to remind me to send in my reading which just brightened my day! Fantastic supplier for service and pricing. If your thinking of switching I would recommend Bulb.
If you would like £100 off your first bill use my code and copy paste www.bulb.me/barrys4513 ...you will get your own when you sign up and you can then pass this onto others to give you both the discount. Win-win.
