To be completely mortified that I accidentally used the men's toilets!

My face is going red just writing this down Blush

So today I was visiting family in an area I'm unfamiliar with. We went into M&S to have a coffee at the café. DD needed her nappy changed and I headed off to the toilets. I glanced at the door and saw the baby change sign.

I walked in and went over to the change table and whipped off DD's nappy and started changing it when a man around age 60 walked in. He looked at me and then headed to the massive row of urinals behind me that I had somehow not noticed! Even though the change table had a mirror next to me so they were so blatantly obvious! I had to just carry on changing the nappy (obviously as quickly as I could) and run back out of there! But I literally had this man urinating while I was straight across from him!!

Worst. Moment. Ever.

So mortified that I haven't told anyone IRL. Feeling deeply embarrassed and sorry for the poor man who probably didn't know what to do either!

Someone make me feel better please Blush

OMG Klutzy! That is the funniest post I've read in a long time! Grin

I did this in Euston Station recently at weekday rush hour.

All that happened was that when I emerged from the cubicle I assumed all the blokes were in the wrong toilets and all the blokes appeared to think they were in the wrong toilets too, glancing around panickedly for the signage. Grin

Zero fucks given on my part. Mistakes happen.

A guy I used to work with (in a shop) used the ladies bathroom for over a year because he'd never noticed the men's bathroom right next door. In his defence, the door had been slightly obscured by a shelving unit.

A woman accidentally using a male bathroom isn’t an intimidating potential threat to the men’s safety, it’s just an embarrassment, so it’s less upsetting than a male person using the Ladies.

I’d be careful that this thread isn’t seized on by the Trans rights brigade to claim it doesn’t matter about people using the wrong sex toilet, to try and justify their proposed invasion of female spaces under self ID.

This reminds me of when I went to a comedy club with my DSis and our DHs. DSis and I went off to the loos to find they were unisex - first time for everything we thought and went on in. First thing we saw was a line of 3 men standing with their backs to us seemingly happily peeing away into urinals! We'd assumed unisex would be all cubicles and scurried off into cubicles. When we came out and washed our hands we turned.... and used the hand driers which were along the wall at waist height - yep, those guys were just drying their hands!!
