klaxon!

Please help. Bras are just not working for me right now. I’ve followed the mumsnet method and measurements are as follows:

Back: 40 inches
Bent over: 51 inches

I’m eternally grateful in advance!

40H I think

Try boob or bust

Clionba · 09/09/2018 21:00

What size are you currently wearing and what's not working for you?

lifecouldbeadream · 09/09/2018 21:11

Boob or bust website and Facebook group!

RandomWordsandaNumber5 · 09/09/2018 21:47

Another vote for booborbust or, if you live near one of their shops, try Bravissimo.

StatisticallyChallenged · 09/09/2018 21:49

Measurement start point gives a 40H but at that sort of band size it's very common to need to go down in the band to get sufficient support.

What are you wearing just now size wise?

Can you put whatever your newest bra is of your current size on back to front and tell me how far away from your body the band can pull (and obviously what size it is!) and also how it fits otherwise

BarbaraofSevillle · 09/09/2018 21:52

Go to Bravissimo if you can afford to. Taking their advice on what style suits your size and shape and being able to sit there while the assistant runs in and out with bras is worth every penny IMHO.

You can always just buy one bra and then look for the same style cheaper online if cost is an issue.

I agree wholeheartedly with advice on going to Bravissimo for a fitting. Having one place with a range of styles in the sizes around yours is priceless and if you have an independent lingerie shop near you that offers a range of sizes and styles its worth a visit - read the Bravissimo guide so you know what you are looking for in a good fit.

www.bravissimo.com/bra-fitting-guide/

A good fit starts with the above, but an understanding of what styles work best with your breast shape, some people have bottom heavy breasts, some top heavy. They can hang outward or inward. Different styles work better with different shapes and getting chance to try on styles one after the other will let you see what works and what doesn't.

Things like this will help www.curvykate.com/blog/this-little-trick-is-the-only-way-to-know-if-your-bra-really-fits/

Take a slim fit t-shirt with you and put it on with every bra. You will see things differently when you view what the bra looks like under a t-shirt. Some styles just don't look right on you!

Try a full cup, a plunge, a balconette, a high gore, a low gore and look for bras where the underwire sits forward of your armpit, mid armpit, low and high.

Good luck!
