Aibu to ask for feeding advice?

This doesn't really belong in AIBU but I could really use some advice and I know this is quite a popular place for posts.Hmm

Ds is 16 weeks old, and exclusively breastfed. I have been offered a part time job, although I'd ideally not, we need the money. I have tried expressing to bottles before, he will never take it. I've tried three different bottles / tests, my dp has tried with me in another room... he just refuses. I'm worried when I leave he won't take the bottle and will be traumatised or somethingConfused Does anyone have any experience of this / advice / tips? Tia.

We had the same situation but my son was older (10 months). Everyone said he would drink the expressed milk when it came to it. In fact he never did! But he was eating and drinking a small amount of water so it wasn’t vital he took the milk. If you are going back to work shortly prior to weaning I imagine that when he gets really hungry he would just drink from the bottles? Hopefully? My husband also used to bring my son in to work occasionally for breastfeeding if I was going to be working past bedtime, not sure if that’s an option?

At the same age I had to go out for an hour or so a few times for DS to take bottle from dh but he did in the end and now aged 3they are so close. (For future reference we introduced bottles a couple of times a week to DD at 4weeks and had no trouble)

Try a beaker!

My bf babies wouldn’t tolerate anything that was imitating a nipple, but a plain beaker they did take milk from when hungry.

Beaker/Doidy Cup?

My DS was the same, then discovered he would happily drink straight from the haakaa pump. Definitely try a cup. Good luck!
