To wonder where to get good quality plus size clothes..

I'm a size 20, tall (5ft 9), very pear shaped (big old lower tummy) and quite big thighs/calves. I'm so tired of the usual suspects for plus sizes being all floral or cold shoulder tops. Neither of which I suit.

Any recommendations for decent clothing? I'm happy to pay a bit more for quality that will last than have a massive wardrobe full of cheap stuff.

I shop next mainly inline they stock a good range of plus size.

ShinyMe · 06/09/2018 17:40

I've recently discovered that Fatface sizes are really generous. I usually wear between 20-22, but Fatface 18 fits me unless it's a really slim fit style item. I really like their stuff, and it seems to be good quality.

I agree with Yours being awful quality. They're good for cheapo tops that you don't mind falling apart in 6 months.

Thank you for this thread.
I too despair of the cheap polyester crap mostly available so my wardrobe is becoming more tatty by the day.

Another vote for Scarlett & Jo, they have a sale on at the minute so some real bargains! I love the quality & fit, generous in the boob area too

scaryteacher · 06/09/2018 20:00

landsend.co.uk do [plus sizes, though as they are US sizes, a 20 is a regular size for them.

Digggers · 06/09/2018 20:14

Monsoon!

saveforthat · 06/09/2018 20:20

Beige has some beautiful stuff. Really expensive but great sales

condepetie · 06/09/2018 20:21

I buy a lot from Dorothy Perkins, quality can be a bit hit and miss but for things like comfy trousers/jeans and dresses I've had great experiences.

missbattenburg · 06/09/2018 20:24

Studio 8 are a bit pricier but very good quality

Shezza71 · 06/09/2018 21:04

Simply be.
new look and Matalan have larger sizes online as well.
Tesco and Sainsbury's clothes are great

Thanks everyone. Went into Seasalt today while in Sevenoaks. Exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. I work from home so 90% of my wardrobe is casual but I was tiring if poor quality stuff ( I find the odd gem at Your Clothing, Simplybe etc) but this was exactly what I wanted. Something that you do pay a little more for but is worth it.

I'll certainly try the other suggestions over time x

Another fan of Seasalt here. I particularly like the fact that they put the actual measurements of each garment on the website so that I can check before I order.

sayanythingelse · 08/09/2018 19:24

Depends how old you are really but ASOS, Boohoo, New Look, Missguided, Yours, Forever 21, bonprix and Dorothy Perkins amongst many others all do plus size.

Cleanermaidcook · 08/09/2018 19:28

Laredoute online, yours clothing for everyday wear, Joe Brown's do a plus size range and monsoon.

Dixiechickonhols · 08/09/2018 19:29

Marina Rinaldi. Not cheap but very nice quality.

Dylaninthemovies1 · 14/04/2020 13:37

I thought that these days most shops (except fancy designers) would sell a size 20, either in their normal or plus size range

GrimDamnFanjo · 14/04/2020 15:56

Navabi, especially when there's a sale! They have clothes from lots of different designers so if you like one look you can find the other clothes the designer also makes.
