I'm about to go to an interview and I might puke because of my fucking period

The pain is creeping up and up and I am so done with this shit. So done with doctors not figuring out what exactly is going on and just trying to fob me off with the Mirena coil.

Taken my heavy duty painkillers, and now waiting with bated breath to see if they are enough this time or whether I'll start to writhe in agony/ rush to the loo to be sick/ have the shits/ pass out cold. Which obviously would make a fucking memorable impression on a new potential employer.

I have no advice but I know how awesome it feels sometimes just to vent so would always encourage you to just write it all down and get it out of your head. I'm so sorry to read your period is affecting you this much and your doctors are fobbing you off. People so often underestimate how detrimental periods can be to your physical health, and the connected impact it then has on your mental health. I hope you get some productive resolutions soon, and huge hugs and best wishes for the interview!! x

That just seems so fucking unfair and I really feel for you. My dd1 has the same issue but it is made more manageable by taking the Pill. She still has severe pain but the Pill brings it within the range where she can take painkillers and it doesn't make her vomit any more.

When I was younger I was also the same, also improved by the Pill. I wanted further investigations and was able to persuade them to refer me after my dsis was diagnosed with endometriosis. I was diagnosed with mild endometriosis but haven't had treatment as the pain improved after having my dds. But my sister had a hysterectomy in the end. Apologies if you have already tried pushing to be investigated for endometriosis - it's bad enough suffering like that without feeling that you aren't being taken seriously. I hope things improve enough that the interview goes ok.

I used to suffer with something similar, throwing up from the pain and cramping on the first day of my period every month.

I went to several doctors trying to find solution, without much luck. Going on the Pill helped, but I still felt sick to my stomach. That is until I walked into my new GP when I moved house 4 years ago who said ‘why don’t you just take the pill continually, you don’t need to have a break’. Seemed such a simple solution! It’s worked though, no periods for 4 years (bliss!) no spotting after the first 3/4 months either.

I have to get my blood pressure checked every 6 months, but then I did before anyway.

I have had another doctor question it at a BP check, but they checked with the senior doctor who also gave it the ok. Not sure why it isn’t suggested more, but may be worth asking your GP about?

My doctor didn't take my cousin seriously until she went to an appointment whilst she was on her period and hadnt taken any of her usual painkillers, she could hardly walk, vomited into a bowl in the waiting room and then passed out walking to the doctor's room. They thought she'd been exaggerating until they saw it for themselves. They upped her painkillers, sent her for tests and she was diagnosed and treated for endo.

I really hope you managed to make it through your interview. Get back to the doctor's and keep kicking off until you get the tests you need or a referral to a specialist!

Good luck OP.
I really hope all your symptoms hold off for a while and you get through it.

I completely sympathise with you. I have ridiculously painful periods which have got worse as I've got older. I've been tested for endometriosis and it all came back clear. My GP prescribed me Mefenamic Acid which sometimes worked, sometimes did nothing. I found ibuprofene lysene to be about the most effective thing I could take however sometimes I'd wake and the pain would be so bad I couldnt get a painkiller down me because I'd throw up. A few months ago my OH got me CBD oil to try. Oh. My. God! Its like an actual miracle. I take the drops under my tongue and they completely relieve the pain in around 10 minutes! Apparently vaping it is the fastest way to get into your system but I've not tried that. You can also order suppositories online specifically for menstrual cramps but the oil has worked amazingly for me. Please try CBD oil!

You have my every sympathy, currently enduring the second worst period of my life. It's like a Crime Scene down there.
