So, lots of supermarkets are doing half-price wine offers and I thought I'd get ahead of the game (its rare but what the heck). However with 4 DCs and a hubby who spends 3/4s of the year abroad my track record for getting teacher presents into school is abysmal. On day my youngest started year 4, her year 3 teacher finally got her end of year present! End of terms are frenetic! I'm regularly caught out with thoughts like 'bugger' (please insert lots of other expletives!). So I've got their presents! I can get them ready. But I've done this before and still have had to go in in January somewhat red faced.

We have a cupboard of random presents (wine, liquor, chocolates, children's toys, books etc) and cards/giftwrap at home. Very useful.

Can you wrap them and put them away and then set multiple alarms on your phone for it to scream

TAKE THE PRESENTS IN

in 4 months time ?!

AJPTaylor · 04/09/2018 20:05

Dont send them in now. But wrap and label the feckers and write a heartfelt card.
Its the wrapping and card that defeats me.
Oh and write on the calendar/in your phone where the hell you put them .

Ahh tbf I actually like the idea of end of year present for past teacher on the first day of the new term! Particularly as something edible for the staffroom. I wouldn't be against that at all.

You might not want to give the teacher a present by Christmas! Hopefully not the case.

Bottles of wine wrapped and although I don't know new teachers/form tutors names, bland statements in cards written. There are ALWAYS a couple of people that stand out in my kids' lives (3 out of four are on the autism spectrum, the fourth whilst displaying absolutely no 'obvious' symptoms of autism does display the worrying tendency towards trumpitis (female version) whereby she expects the whole world to simply believe and do what ever she says) and they DO NOT get anything bland. But this is not uncommon, yet still I fail. I have set alarms before, but its that manic moment of trying to get out of the house and into the car that defeats every time/year!

I take something in for teachers/nursery at the start of the year as a thank you in advance. When I was working in a nursery before dc one family always brought us in something at the start of term and it was a lovely touch and acknowledge how hard the first few days and weeks can be while everyone is settling in. Cards get sent in at christmas.
