Aww thank you @starbright you worded it much better than I did.

I'm sorry if I got anyone's back up. I just feel good about my self after long time of feeling like shit and needed to say it! I knew if i did I would get the same responses hence why I put it on here and not fb (For shame..) but I'm just going to quietly enjoy my new found self from now on.. whilst giving myself the eye in every reflective surface I come across ha! I fancy myself too op
The older I get, the hotter I think I look. It's just accepting yourself how you are and thinking well, fuck it, I'm alright.

rightknockered · 04/09/2018 00:25

And especially after you come out of an abusive relationship, and to be away from the constant insults and self doubt. It's a good feeling, having a bit of self worth, good for you OP

Anonymou · 04/09/2018 00:30

Well. I can see 2 sides to this.

It's fantastic that you're so happy in your own body, and you're so comfortable with who you are.

BUT

You fancy yourself? It depends what you're thinking I guess.. do you just love yourself the way you are, or are you actively sexually attracted to yourself? That's kind of... Hmm if you know what I mean?

Shrekless · 04/09/2018 00:37

I'm not sure what it is @anon
It's so new.. I just think I look good!
I'm not sure if it's possible to find yourself Sexually attractive?? You'd never leave the house!? Grin

Mummadeeze · 04/09/2018 00:41

I definitely feel like this when i am very drunk and go to the loo. I can’t really believe my own beauty.... sadly, everyone else looks amazingly attractive too however and it is all very confusing. On a serious note, amazing weight loss, enjoy every minute of your new self! Good for you!

I fancy you too, Shrek, in a purely platonic way of course. Grin

Rebecca36 · 04/09/2018 01:02

If by fancying yourself you mean you feel confident and enjoy being you, nothing wrong with that. Enjoy it while you can.

Beeziekn33ze · 04/09/2018 01:05

OP 'in the beholder' seems the best place for the eye.

Shrekless · 04/09/2018 01:15

Oops @beez Grin did I mention the vodkas earlier??
Now I can't sleep.. not sure how much I'll be fancying my self in the morning.. 😑

Oh, whilst I'm here. can someone clear this up for me.
Myself.. is it spelled my self OR myself?? Phone never auto corrects it.. Ta.

OP posts:
MissConductUS · 04/09/2018 01:20

It's one word in American usage.

Shrekless · 04/09/2018 01:24

Sooooo?? Whats the 'right' way??
(Already aware that I've accidentally offended someone) "someone" 🤔 or some one?? 🤔..

Havabiscuit · 04/09/2018 01:33

Fabulous. Are you ovulating? Got the hormone surge?

WhyIsntGeorgeCalledPeterOrPaul · 04/09/2018 01:51

It's myself. And it's someone.

And where I'm from fancy means be sexually attracted to, which might explain some of the responses. I'm guessing if you had posted a thread saying "I love myself", people would have responded better.

lelepond · 04/09/2018 01:54

Well, I say good for you!

I've done a little bit of modelling in the past and even at the "height" of my very short-lived career I was plagued by my insecurities. I'm a natural introvert and missed out on a lot of great experiences because of confidence issues.

WhyIsntGeorgeCalledPeterOrPaul · 04/09/2018 01:56

Sorry "fancy" where I'm from just means I think I look good

So, it's normal for people there say they fancy their mums and dads, things like that? Shock

jinnyatfinmory · 04/09/2018 02:18

Sorry OP, couldn’t resist Grin

Twotailed · 04/09/2018 06:13

good for you! And i’m not being sarcastic. Society spends so much time and energy telling women that we aren’t good enough that self-love and recognition of one’s own beauty are radical acts of revolt against patriarchy and I AM HERE FOR IT.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 04/09/2018 07:59

Truly - I'm pleased that you have such a positive self-image.

I haven't and never have - my two sisters are drop-dead gorgeous and know it, even as older ladies (the younger is 57.

As long as your good opinion of yourself doesn't turn to arrogance, I think it's wonderful that you can look at yourself with great joy.

jackio2205 · 04/09/2018 08:01

Sorry, had to get involved again, but yes, fancy can mean sexually attracted to, but people also use it to say what they want for dinner, 'i fancy pizza', sometimes what they liken themselves to be 'i fancy myself as a bit of a chef', whatever it is, surely people can read between the lines, it means positive emotions towards something, in this case herself, don't take it too seriously people, the woman is being happy for herself, fantastic! We all say nice things to our friends, we should all start being a friend to ourselves, and to strangers, so stop questionning what she means, gordon bennett! (Don't ask me to explain that term/expression Grin)

Lovely post, jackio2205.

jackio2205 · 04/09/2018 14:25

Thanks @starbrightlight xxxx

rightknockered · 04/09/2018 15:21

Yes. A woman must never consider herself attractive, like herself in any way, be good looking and aware of it, or notice if a man is attracted to her. It's only acceptable if we put ourselves down and define our worth by our flaws. Even more so an intelligent or funny woman is never to care about her appearance. And finally, no attractive woman is to have a personality, and the final kick, that all attractive women are bitches.
