I found them in my parents house (Ireland) today. They’re about 1mm in length and vary from translucent babies to brown/black adults. I can only see them on the toilet cistern and the duvet. No one’s been bitten and everyone has been checked for lice.

Bodies look like bedbugs, but I don’t think they have such long antennae?

1CantPickAName · 02/09/2018 19:23

They look like bed bugs to me but I wouldn’t expect to find bed bugs in the loo?

Wishiwascrafty · 02/09/2018 19:28

Oh I really hope they’re not bedbugs. Would I not have been bitten?

It’s really odd they’re on the bed and cistern (bathroom beside the bedroom but not en suite) but nowhere in between

I don’t think they are bed bugs. The shape isn’t quite right.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 02/09/2018 19:32

Any black spots like felt pen on the sheets or pillows?

Wishiwascrafty · 02/09/2018 19:34

No, I can only find them on top of the duvet (despite stripping it) but haven’t found any on the sheet or pillow. No spots

Spider mites?

MumOfTwoMasterOfNone · 02/09/2018 19:38

Not everyone reacts to bedbug bites. You would probably only know you had been bitten if you had reacted.
I agree with other posters though that the antennae look long for bedbugs; however I'm not an expert. I hope for your sake it isn't
Confused

buckingfrolicks · 02/09/2018 19:54

Wood worms? I don't dare google. Or hungry ie empty ticks?

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 02/09/2018 19:54

We had a horrific time with bed bugs years ago in a rental and I don’t remember them looking like that. When they are hungry they are more shield shaped and pointier when full.

buckingfrolicks · 02/09/2018 19:55

I googled. Not woodworm but I'm definitely warming to tick!

loveyoutothemoon · 02/09/2018 20:00

Tick?

LiveatCityHall · 02/09/2018 20:06

There's a message board on the natural history museum website where you can put pics of bugs up and they will identify them for you. I'll get the link and post it.

LiveatCityHall · 02/09/2018 20:10

Looks like the original message board is now defunct but I found this instead

LiveatCityHall thank you! I’ve sent pic in a email.

Definitely not bedbugs. They are totally different.

MereDintofPandiculation · 02/09/2018 21:36

Not ticks. Ticks are arachnids, so are reminiscent of short legged spiders.

CandidaAlbicans · 02/09/2018 23:01

It's difficult to see but they don't like bed bugs or ticks (I've encountered both). My first thoughts were maybe they're a type of weevil, but TBH I'm not as clued up about insects as I'd like to be.

LiveatCityHall · 02/09/2018 23:21

You're welcome 😀

SunnySummerDays · 08/09/2018 21:15

Absolutely not bedbugs.
