What is it anyway and since when did it actually become a word? I don't really know why I find it irritating I just do.

Nope. What do you use instead?

butterflysugarbaby · 02/09/2018 13:56

MEH....... doesn't bother me.

ThePricklySheep · 02/09/2018 13:56

Yeah, it’s a bit ‘meh’.

Grin
HollyBollyBooBoo · 02/09/2018 13:59

It's just such a perfect word when used correctly though - love it!

Stroller15 · 02/09/2018 13:59

Yes! I hate it equally written and spoken. Disinterest and apathy and all that.

BabloHoney · 02/09/2018 13:59

The Simpsons made it popular Grin

sonjadog · 02/09/2018 14:00

Meh, doesn’t bother me.

MereDintofPandiculation · 02/09/2018 14:02

Never heard it in real life, seen it on MN and nowhere else, heard it once on the radio.

It's not a word I'm planning to add to my vocabulary.

WhatsUpPussycat123 · 02/09/2018 14:03

Yes I find it irritating. Anything that becomes a popular catchphrase annoys me. “It’s all good”, “good times”, “amazeballs” etc. I know a few people who constantly use all of these, makes me think they lack the capacity for original thought.

redexpat · 02/09/2018 14:06

It's English for bof. Wink

BrokenWing · 02/09/2018 14:07

Don't think I've actually heard it spoken in RL, and very very rarely written in text, email, FB etc. Not been exposed enough to it to irritate.

thenightsky · 02/09/2018 14:08

I think it is quite descriptive.

MorningsEleven · 02/09/2018 14:09

My children's vocabulary appears to be declining. Unfortunately "meh", "nah" and "whatever" have made it into their top ten responses to everything. They're a joy.

DidimusStench · 02/09/2018 14:10

I think it’s awfully childish (teenagerish?) but sometimes it really just does the trick on explaining how I feel/what I think.

In conclusion; I like it.

Meh.

Evidencebased · 02/09/2018 14:10

Well, it’s a bit,

Meh

Pebblespony · 02/09/2018 14:11

I'm a bit meh about it.

BreconBeBuggered · 02/09/2018 14:12

Sometimes I see it used to mean something else, I'm not sure what, but apathy wouldn't be in context. Similarly I often see instances of 'ugh', where yuckiness isn't the observation being made, and I'm not entirely sure what is. I hate both of these, because it makes me wonder if the words have gained a new meaning outside my line of vision as a middle-aged old trout.

SilverySurfer · 02/09/2018 14:15

No, I like it. It conveys exactly what I feel about something.

LongSummerDays · 02/09/2018 14:16

Meh is a great word.

Charley50 · 02/09/2018 14:35

I never use it, but I like it. I always think of it as having New York Jewish origins, not sure why.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/09/2018 14:36

It has to be written as Meh though Wink

I cannot abide Guys . "Hey guys/ you guys/ Great to see you guys "

I am female . I am quite obviously female.
I am not, never have been and never will be a "Guy" .

Meh .

wowfudge · 02/09/2018 14:37

Yes - it's often used in a rudely dismissive way.

mostdays · 02/09/2018 14:42

It's one my my favourites actually.
