"Professionals on Naked Attraction"

I actually am in two minds about this.....

So I'm a registered nurse and I'm quite sure the NMC would probably have something to say about this "bringing the profession in to disrepute" or something similar.

But equally I'm very open about being naked in the proper situation ie home with family, beach, changing rooms. I'm a big girl but have good body confidence and I believe this comes from my mum being the same. AND I think that if more people were cool about being naked and confident then less people would have hang ups about their bodies.

BUT what happens if a patient, client, parent sees the program?

There's no way in hell I would trust the judgement of a medical professional or any other professional who thought presenting themselves naked as part of a televised meat market was a good idea.

Would anyone really be in professional trouble for doing this?

I watched a bit of this and was shocked when a woman, who was being selected by a couple to join their ’polyamorous’ relationship, described herself as a nurse.

I knew that if I was her manager I’d be checking social media etc to see if it identified where she worked as it could be seen as bringing her employer into disrepute.

I wondered about that in love island. They've had a dr, nurse and solicitor. As a HCP I'd feel uncomfortable with patients/clients knowing so much about my private life, even if it was thought to be acceptable by my professional body and employers.

"OP as a registered nurse whats your medical opinion on the removal of pubic hair."

Why just pubic hair? If you are concerned and need a medical opinion why not mention under arm hair removal too?

"OP as a registered nurse whats your medical opinion on the removal of pubic hair."

It's normal in some cultures for females (and some males) to remove pubic hair for personal hygiene (Wiki)

Personal choice. Nothing remotely medical.

As a registered nurse who has worked in sexual health I have a professional opinion and a personal one.

Professional: having no pubic hair leaves you open to more skin to skin contact therefore higher risk of genital warts [and other STDs] but seeing as most of the population have been exposed at one time or another to warts the risk is higher with no pubes. Shaving leaves micro nicks the skin and increases your risk too.

Personal: I have no hair there because I have my foof waxed for the last 10years. It's not a look thing or a porn driven thing. For me it feels cleaner and nicer. I have only had two partners since so the risk is very low but having said that one of my LT partners has/had genital warts and I never got them. Your own immune system keeps it in check.

No foof hair is a massive trend and I'd say 90% of females and 50% of males that come to clinic do some sort of dramatic hair removal. But it's just like super straight hair driven my GHD sales and highlighting and contouring driven by the Kardashian's and online makeup tutorials.

I'm tittering at the naked skiing physiotherapists.
A colleague had to get clearance at work to appear on Eggheads, I can imagine the reaction of the head to an application to appear on NA.
Well, Love Island did the Dr no harm as he's now landed a tv gig (oh, do you think that was the idea all along?) But, I'd not see a professional in the same light knowing they did something so publicity seeking.
