Ive just bought something on eBay that requires me to go to London and unless you can fit a dinner service in a suitcase on a train I think I'm going to have to drive.

I'm shitting myself. It's in Islington I don't even know where that is but I have a sat nav.. please tell I am being v unreasonable to be so worried about it 🤦‍♀️

If you do most parking is only for 4 hours between 8.30am and 6.30pm unless you park in an expensive car park

If it makes you feel better OP I did an intensive driving course & passed my test last year in London. Yes there are a lot of “hazards” but I struggle much more with country roads etc as I’m used to traffic & 20mph!

tbf your route sounds good. The worst bits of London are zone 1 & getting across where you can easily take a wrong turn & be stuck in traffic for an age. You will be fine :)

So fine from the North. Get off at j2 of the M1 and it’s a pretty straight run. Stay off the bus lanes and it’s a bit stop start down the Holloway Road due to traffic lights and there is still some roadworks near Highbury and Islington station I think. Try to avoid a day when Arsenal are playing at home and most of Islington is free parking after 1.30 on a Saturday. Once you get there islongton is lovely to do take time for a stroll and a coffee

I drive in central London every day.

With the exception of bus and taxi drivers, everyone else is in the same boat as you and just muddling along trying to do the right thing and get to their destination.
