Was the violence that caused this a serious offence? Sickening. Petition by Rachel Williams on change.org asking this. @cpsuk take domestic violence seriously in courts

The evil little bastard lives on the same street as my sister.
I never knew it was possible to absolutely HATE someone.

Parkhead that's absolutely awful. Your hatred must be intense and near-impossible to live with. Have you got a counsellor?

On the opposite end of the scale. A good friend has just been sentenced for supposedly assaulting his ex.. They had no evidence.. The only ' witness' was family. And my friend has evidence clearly showing they lied.. Including a text staying they would do whatever it takes to get him ' banged up' But it was never looked at.. He got 180 hours and £450.. It's going to appeal as soon as he gets the date..

Yes I have received bereavement counselling.

I was assaulted by my ex, eyebrow split open, thrown down the stairs and kicked out the house completely naked. Luckily there was a jacket on the washing line which I put on and then walked 2 mile towards where my mother worked (closest I knew anyone) when a taxi pulled over and offered me a lift the last 2 mile. After this he hacked my Facebook put on vile statuses and commented vile things on others pages, then smashed up my phone. A few days after this he went to work and punched a lad all over, beat him quite badly because he thought I'd slept with this lad. He was then arrested for both incidents, on his record he had already been charged with wounding with intent to kill--he hit someone over the head a couple of times with a pool cue. So after a violent past record and 2 more violent offences he got 2x 2 year suspended sentences suspended for 2 years, told to attend a drug and alcohol abuse course, a few hours community service and ordered to pay compensation and court fees. (£200 compensation for me and £26 to replace broken phone, £180 compensation to the lad at work and £200 towards court fees. He wasn't working due to the assault so they took money out of his benifits, £10 every 2 weeks split between the 4 cost. I got my share In a monthly payment of £1.50ish a month 😑)

So yes I agree the system is completly messed up and charges on dv are a joke.

I hope it's helpful to you, well, as much as it can be. If you feel you need more, please go back. I hope you see things catch up with him one day; I expect he feels quite pleased with himself and it wont take long for him to find another woman to knock around. I really hope you see him pay. Best wishes to you.

Needs to be minimum custodial sentence. Prisons are overflowing is the narrative. But sure they can spare minimum 30 days. 30 days of no wages, 30 days no freedom, released to knowledge everyone knows their despicable, and name on register so it shows under a dbs search or claires law disclosure

Agree city. Have often been tempted to make a DV website to put convicted offenders photos and court details up for people to reference. Everything else imaginable is up there so why not that?
