What salary for this marketing role in financial services?

They want someone with 2 years of experience. I feel suspicious that what they are offering is on the low side. The recruitment agency I'm liaising with wants to send my profile over to them but as I say, I am suspicious.

What ballpark should it be in?

£25k is right for that level of experience.
Financial services usually offer decent bonuses - look at the overall package.

I’m not sure of the salaries in marketing but it is worth considering whether this is a specialism you want to remain in if salary scales are low. You might want think about what you could Segway into within an organisation.

There is no sign of any bonus in the list of bens. Or health insurance. Free fruit though, and quarterly office social events. Oh well. I guess times are just too lean.

I think 25k is way too low for London, and would expect between 28 - 35k.

Much too low for london especially in Asset Management IMO

TroubledLichen · 28/08/2018 23:33

I know a few team admin assistants and PAs that work for asset management firms, not one earns less than 35k basic. 25k would be just about acceptable for a receptionist role but even then it’s on the low side. Up to you if you think the experience makes it worth it but personally I wouldn’t apply.

That's what my gut feeling was initially. I know others are saying marketing has slumped in terms of pay, but for the environment we're talking about - I think it's miserly.

£30k would have been acceptable for me, but just don't think £25k is altogether fair.

It is what it is though if that is what they are willing to pay. If you’re not willing to work for that money then don’t apply. I’ve had agents call me about roles that pay far less than what I’d consider market considering what they want but yet they persevere.
