To ask if there is a way to save/automate my shopping lists?

I’ve realised my stress levels and frequent ill health are often based around not eating properly and not planning properly, so I’ve planned out 4 weeks of meals, so Week 1, Week 2, etc. I now know exactly what ingredients I need for each week. So what I want to do is create and save shopping lists for each of the 4 weeks, and then when I want to do an online shop, I can choose the right list and it will somehow get put into my Tesco order app without me having to type it all out every time. Tesco currently (in the app at least) only seem to allow you to order the same as previous orders or tick from an overall favourites list, but you can’t save and name separate lists that you choose from when you want. So, wonderful collective of Mumsnetters, first, AIBU to want to be able to automate my shopping this much? And second, does anyone know of any great apps that could help me achieve this?
Many thanks!!!

Hi OP. I believe Ocado have some functionality similar to what you're looking for.
You put stuff in your "basket" and then can choose to save as a list. It allows you to store multiple lists, rather than just a single "Favourites" section, so seemingly you can create lists for each week or even each meal.
Appreciate they're a little pricier than Tesco though so hope this still helps (and they don't even deliver in my area yet! Sad)

Am sure Ocado also has functionality to import favourites or lists from other online supermarkets but haven't used it myself.

SadTrombone is right - Ocado lets you save shopping lists.

So you could have "Week1" , "Week2", "Christmas shop".

I hadn't realised that other online grocery shops didn't. I find this really useful as I shop for my almost-housebound mother as well as us, so I have a list of her most frequent/recurring items separately.

Then I can "add all on list to trolley" and edit to add/remove items.

FreshEyre · 27/08/2018 21:59

Sainsbury's website does this, you can just reorder a previous list.

So if you set up a list each week for 4 weeks you could then go back and just order it again. You can still edit and obviously some products may not be available.

We have a couple set up so I have a 'back from holiday shop' that I frequently go back to as well as a 'camping/SC holiday' list.

I use the Tesco app, I can go to”my orders”, select one and then choose to add that order to my basket. So if you order weeks 1-4 for your next 4 orders, then after that you can go back to the correct week in your previous orders and add it to your basket to duplicate it.

AlexaC · 27/08/2018 22:00

Not sure about shopping lists but you can see your last 4 orders on the Tesco groceries app, so you could go back to your last order for that week and then just either re-add the whole lot to your basket or go down and pick what you want. It's not perfect but it may help a little?

You can do it with the Asda app if you were willing to have a change of supermarkets.

sadTrombone thank you! Didn’t think of Ocado!
finalnamechange I have an elderly mum who I shop for too, would be great to just add all her stuff on one list
Thanks to everyone else - the Tesco ‘previous orders’ thing only works if you never take anything off the list - if you decide one week you don’t want something, when you go back it’s not your original list but the amended version. I want the same list to be available each time and then I can knock things off based on what I’ve already got in the cupboard etc.
