I’ve been using a Mooncup for four years since by twins were born - it’s been absolutely brilliant, reliable, cheap and totally reduced period pain.

What follows will definitely contain TMI about my fanjo. Sorry about that, avert your eyes if squeamish.

This month, however, it keeps slipping down and, um, chafing. There’s no stem on it, it’s the end of the cup rubbing against my labia. It was absolutely awful. Angry

I think things are starting to move south and my cervix feels a lot lower, and as such, the mooncup (size B) is too long for my poor post-partum vagina. I’m absolutely sure I’ve got it in right.

Anyone got suggestions of an alternative? I’ve googled quite a lot and I can’t find specific measurements. Thanks in advance! Flowers

I should’ve also added that I’ve a) been exercising more this last six months and b) I’m about 10 stone (5’7”) and a little heavier than I’ve been for a while. Wonder if either of these things are contributing to my moon cup catastrophe. Hmm

I thought they just came in 2 sizes, small for women who have not given birth and large for those who have?
If it helps I use www.amazon.co.uk/Sileu-Reusable-Medical-Silicone-Menstrual/dp/B01CUOKQ9I/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?keywords=sileu+menstrual+cup&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1534959792&sr=8-3 in large. I have a low cervix and have had children,

Have you tried this: putacupinit.com/quiz/?

It helped me find a better fitting cup after I recently started having trouble with my previous one.

I think the two sizes generally are to do with the width rather than length but you can get ones for a low cervix so those presumably are shorter. Look for the Casco Cup as I think they do one for a low cervix or Put It In a Cup Quiz. I can link if you can't find on google :)

This was how I felt - have a Meluna shorty which is much better.

Pascha · 27/08/2018 20:48

Meluna do a range of different sizes, grips and firmness. The site is a bit overwhelming but if you look the faq section it does explain the different options.

I used to wear mine inside out- it shortens the length and flattens off the bottom (of the cup heh) which for some reason felt far more comfortable.

Email mooncup help! They are very responsive and absolutely lovely. I had a very similar issue last year and after some correspondence, a lot of personal questions and a lot of advice, they offered to send me the smaller size as a replacement, free of charge. They even sent a follow-up email a month or so later to check if it had helped. It did.

Waffles80 · 27/08/2018 21:35

Thank you all so much - I’ve done the quiz and it suggested the Meluna shorty, and I’ve emailed Mooncup.

I had a Lunette which I really liked (until I managed to burn it while sterilising) that was definitely smaller than a mooncup. I've now got a tulip cup which is TINY, but I think it's too small really. I can't last all day without emptying it, which is what I most like about using a cup. So I think I'll probably get another Lunette.

The meluna shorty is great. I tried the standard meluna first but it was bashing my cervix for the first couple of days of my period - ow!

I've recently bought a Merula, it's shorter and rounder than a mooncup. The capacity is great, it holds waaay more than a mooncup, but because it's not as long, I don't feel it pressing against anything or coming too low. There's a photo of three different cups for comparison purposes in this link:
