To Think Some Posters are Naive about SS (Part 2)

Further to the original thread which is nearing capacity and as requested by Auntethel I have started a send part to the thread as I am finding this so interesting. I have had a lot of bother from SS and each time they are wrong but cant admit it. Things happen which probably should be dealt with by them but in the light of previous experience I find it difficult/impossible to trust them

Stillme.

Unless I missed something on the thread you didn’t actually say what had happened

Needasock. I don't think I can say in case someone recognises me. What I will say is that I have yet to see anyone employed in SS who is sensible and yet they can never admit things when they are proved wrong.

Hi, thanks for starting a new thread, I was following/posting on the last one. Am a SW in children’s services so probably coming from a different perspective to some of the parents and others who wanted to discuss their negative experiences on the last thread but hope I can listen/join in if the debate does continue.

@DeriArms - To have a good debate two sides need to be able to put forward experiences from both ends. Unfortunately I have to be careful what I put on a public forum. It could reveal a load of identities and it could alert people. It is a difficult discussion to have when confidentiality has to be observed. Had it not been for that I would really love to hear an involved social worker's opinion of the events and given the past experiences how do I handle current and future issues?
Is there a determined effort never to admit the SWs ever get things wrong even when the evidence is there contrary to their views and actions?

Sorry that should have read "an Uninvolved Social Worker"

Is it normal practice to have to request copies of SS case records online? Asking because my DP has tried via phone and in person with his old SW office and been told they’ll arrange it, they haven’t, then today they rang to tell him he needs to apply on their website.

Can’t help but think they’re stalling. Can’t say why but the reasons he’s requesting are pretty bad, something the Daily Fail would probably like to get their teeth into. He was never given minutes or case notes by his old SW despite repeated requests, in fact he got one set of minutes because he asked in front of her manager. I think they’ve got something to hide.
