To ask you how to ensure my children enjoy the last week of the holidays?

NC and posting for traffic.

My 2DDs are returning home today after being at their dad's for the past week. We alternate weeks in the summer holidays. The last week that I had them we didn't do much as I was ill and I said we'd make the most of the last week with lots of day trips, possibly an overnight stay somewhere and generally have lots of fun. I don't drive so go everywhere on public transport. I have a pre-schooler in a buggy to consider too and am a single SAHM.

Yesterday my lovely elderly mum fell and broke her ankle so once she's out of hospital I will be going to hers each day to help her with personal care, cooking, cleaning etc.

At the moment I don't know how long she'll be in hospital but think a few days as having surgery tomorrow.

How can I ensure my children have a great last week of the holidays whilst still meeting my mum's needs? Carers aren't an option as when she's broken bones previously they have proved more trouble than help. Other family nearby but they work.

Any suggestions grateful received! DCs are 11,9 and 3.

Ha - mine have got the joys of school uniform/shoe shopping/ stationery sorting/dentist/haircuts etc. In between we will be hopefully:-

Watching movies - popcorn/sweets/cosy blankets etc
Firepit marshmallows and camping in garden
Friends for sleepover (minimal input needed from me on this one!)
Board game afternoon (never like the idea of it but love it once we Start)
Blackberry picking/making crumble

Thank you, there's lots of suggestions there that we can do at gran's house which is good as likely to be there a few hours each day for a while. She broke a major bone a few summers ago and we had to cancel our holiday so I could look after her so the kids are going to be upset again but mainly worried about her especially as it's only a year since she broke something else! Good job I don't work.
