That when in hotels it always seems to be mum's sorting food and drink out for children.
The father's seem to sort themselves out but nothing else.

When the DC were little , we got their food sorted then DH helped them to eat while I got his food then sorted mine. By the time we started the DC would be finishing up and happy to sit a while.

We just came back from holiday, (DC are teens) , I got the coffee for everyone, DH got the drinks from the bar (I cannot get served in a bar for love nor money Hmm )

I didn't get any weird or pitying looks as far as I know ....

Some people have saddled themselves with lazy partners who don’t participate in parenting. So they have to ensure the children get their food ordered for correctly

Some people are controlling and critisise everything their partner does and every thing they do is wrong when it comes to the children. So they opt out and causes a “mum knows best”

Obviously there are many other relationships inbetween these 2 statement.

No one knows what is really going on, so best not to guess.

Nope, partner sorts things out for kids in equal measure, couldn’t have it any other way

Not us 20 years ago when DCs were small. We were then and still are now a partnership.
