Katie Piper's Attacker To Be Released

He's served just 9 years of a life sentence. I realise "life" doesn't always mean "life" but still.

Disgusted at this discussion.

Just had to vent.

Yanbu. I think the only consolation is that those 9 years have cost him arguably the best years of his life, his youth, ie his 20s.

I think that there should be a sentence specific to acid attacks, like gbh with intent to disfigure, which should carry a minimum sentence, that is comparable to murder.

Jay if someone burnt off your face, or your child’s face, or your partners face with acid, leading to goodness knows how many surgeries, and the impact on their mental health, would you still be quite happy for them to have their freedom.
Katie piper, thanks to wonderful medical care, is absolutely beautiful. But he could have killed her with the injuries inflicted and she may never have lived to tell her story. It is likely only because of modern surgery and medicine she didn’t die from her injuries that he wilfully inflicted, for what a bit of cash.
I hope he gets his come uppance one way other the other. And the ex. Vile human beings.

It will cost a fortune to let him out anyway, with the profile of the case. I’d be happier if tax payers money was used to keep him in a small cage until he ended his days. He doesn’t deserve to see the light of day.

There should be nothing less than whole life terms for acid attacks, it's the most cowardly life destroying thing you can do to someone, and no I'm not happy this offender is being released (he doesn't deserve to be called by a name)

He literally burnt off a womans face for money. He should have been hanged. He will never be safe and anyone who says he is safe for society is either deluded or a liar.

Ugh I did t know much about this story but they both sound highly dangerous so neither should be let out!!

So what if he was instructed to do it? He threw acid on a person! He should never get out.

Katie Piper is the reason I'm going to watch Strictly for the first time this year. She is an inspiration with the way she has dealt with this horrific attack. I have her biography and it's just always stuck with me. I remember when it happened and it just seemed so abhorrent. Now of course it appears to becoming far too mainstream as a way of attacking others.

The people who orchestrated and carried out the attack should never be allowed on the streets again and I hope Katie isn't suffering too much at the news he is being realised. Would love for her to be a MNetter!
