But it’s complained about and quoted all the time yet the Wright stuff and loose women (off this week) have been lifting threads and there’s not one word?

Everyone reads it....... they just don't want to confess Grin

tillytrotter1 · 23/08/2018 12:52

Years ago a friend was involved in selecting candidates for Sandhurst and one of the question was What newspapers do you read? The Times and Telegraph were the usual answers, in the Mess the most read papers were the Sun and Mirror!
As so many people seem to know what's in the Mail then many must read it.

RibbonAurora · 23/08/2018 12:54

I open and read all the mail where I work, we get lots of bills but occasionally we get a nice fat cheque too which means I'll probably get paid that month.

The sidebar of shame is my guilty pleasure

ILoveMyDressingGown · 23/08/2018 13:05

I used to read it but it affected my self esteem and body confidence hugely.

I am a (supply) teacher and was always proud of that because it was a job I'd wanted to do since being a child and I felt like I'd achieved something. I was the only person in my family to have done well at school and gone to university so they were all happy for me too. After reading [spits] the Mail and saw the vitriol and hatred towards teachers (and any public sector employee) I started to feel almost ashamed of my job.

I am overweight and have body confidence issues anyway and reading the shite about women's flabby bellies etc just made me feel even worse.

I stopped reading it but I don't think my self esteem has recovered Sad

agedknees · 23/08/2018 13:16

I was a dirty, filthy uncaring, slovenly nhs nurse according to the mail.

SusannahL · 23/08/2018 13:17

Since it has recently been announced that the Daily Mail is the top selling newspaper in the UK, then the answer is probably a lot on here read it. They will trawl through it desperate to find some 'racist' comment so they can come on here uttering howls of outrage. Grin

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 23/08/2018 13:19

Of course I read it- I can also read through it and see what they are trying to do.
I will say this though, easiest app to navigate and awesome showbiz updates which is why so many people default to it for updates.

busyboysmum · 23/08/2018 13:24

I read it online - it's a really easy website to navigate.

Also they're one of the few occasionally gender critical newspapers so they get my vote for that.

I am able to read things and not be taken in by their rhetoric. I have my own opinion on stuff anyway so tend not to be swayed by one sided reporting.

DressingGown That's brilliant! I love it!

'The Daily Mail affected by self esteem. I used to teach but now I don't. I'm overweight and it's ALL THE FAULT OF THE DAILY MAIL !!

Great, but the trouble is some will believe you were being serious you know!!
