AIBU to want to give our kids what I had?

Just a question really!
If you went to private school yourself, how many of you are able to offer that to your own kids?
I’d love to and feel like I’m letting down my parents by not being able to do what they didn’t for me! We both work hard in good careers but with 3 kids it’s just not doable these days! I feel like I’m somehow failing my parents legacy!!

Cost of this sort of thing has risen dramatically since the nineties. There was a very interesting FT article on it fairly recently.

I know about 5 people who went to private school. I'd say 1 is a higher earner. 2 are in public sector roles. 2 don't work at all. So I wouldn't say it's made much difference overall economically.
