Baby sleeping ok ?

Hey I know this probably isn’t the correct area but I’ve just joined today’s to get advice, basically we’ve moved baby 6 months to her nursery and she’s in her cot sleeping. This will sounds pathetic and really pedantic but half her foot out between the the bars, is this ok ? I would ask My fiancée but she’s gone out to netball and I don’t want to disturb her as she doesn’t get much alone time anymore.

It’s fine :)

birdonawire1 · 22/08/2018 20:09

Ease it back in. Babies usually sleep like logs.

Confusedbeetle · 22/08/2018 20:10

Yes, its fine, just put it back in

Dad28 · 22/08/2018 20:15

I just went up to check and now she’s sleeping on her side, so obviously next question is that ok ?

That’s ok too if she rolled there herself.

Dad28 · 22/08/2018 20:19

@pinkavocado she did but I gently rolled her on her back and she stayed asleep. But if she rolls herself again it’s ok to leave her be ? I’m so sorry I know I sound like hypochondriac lol

I think it's fine to let her sleep on her side if she can roll herself there - I know ideally they should sleep on their backs but once they can roll themselves you can't watch them all night! With regard to her foot having got between the bars have you thought of using a baby sleeping bag to help stop that happening again? Also helps when the weather gets colder for them not to lose their blanket once they can roll and crawl

Jammysod · 22/08/2018 20:22

She'll be fine. I used to panic when my son rolled onto his front, turns out he slept much better that way.
I'm guessing she's your first? These anxieties do get easier, I promise.

Mummymummymummmeeeee · 22/08/2018 20:22

I obviously don't mean disturb her and put her in a sleeping bag now though! I mean for future just to clarify! Grin

Jammysod · 22/08/2018 20:23

I agree about the sleeping bags too, they're fab.

Mummymummymummmeeeee · 22/08/2018 20:24

Mine have slept better on their fronts since being able to roll too!

DidimusStench · 22/08/2018 20:27

Well my 6mo isn’t out of my armpit bed let alone in their own room so I’d say that all sounds amazeballs Grin

I have an air wrap bumper on my cot to stop this, I was worried about buba breaking arms/legs. It's a safe bumper as it's made from breathable material. I have tested it, by this I mean wrapping it around my own face to see if i could breath which gave my mum a good laugh. It's totally secure but just incase buba rolls her face right up to it. Lol first time mum worries about everything!! http://www.dunelm.com/product/airwrap-2-sided-mesh-plain-white-1000126682?cmmmc=plaagoogle--KidssCots%20and%20Cot%20Beds[G-PLA-KIDS-COTS]]Cotsts--keyword&gclid=Cj0KCQjwkkTbBRDsARIsAALJSOYym3jF-HRAjmuvj23Ljackj7H7Uq3wuKTFF0T9xSZJCifcO0ngVgaAj04EALwwcB#

We did have one of those sleeping bags where the arms had poppers but she has outgrown it and it’s quite warm so she just has a nappy and covered her with a muslin. We have one now without the arm poppers.

@jammysod yes she is and normally my fiancée deal with her of a night as in putting her to bed because she gets fed and then put to bed, I hope so I’m a bit out of my comfort zone here lol, I don’t mind the long walking round the park with her to get her to sleep though 😀

She’ll be fine. Babies sleep in the strangest of positions. Dd sleeps with her butt in the air, arms out the cot, feet out the cot. You can’t watch them all night and at 6 months they’ll be able to roll around whenever they feel/don’t feel comfortable

Dad28 · 22/08/2018 21:21

Ok fiancée will be home soon but now she is sleeping on her tummy is that ok ?

OP posts:
spugzbunny · 22/08/2018 21:27

Yep! If she rolled in to any position herself it's ok! Gently roll her back if you can but don't worry if not!

Dad28 · 22/08/2018 21:29

Just did and she was fine, fiancée is home soon but thank you sooo much for all your help tonight and putting my anxieties at ease ! Also this maybe the first time a woman may find out her partner has been messaging other women on the internet and not be furious ? Lol thank you so much everyone.

Since my son was able to roll over himself he has slept face down into the mattress. Ive always turned him over when I check on him but I've always heard if they are able to roll over themselves it's okay
