To expect to be paid

I started a job on 3rd August. It didn’t really work out, so I only did a few shifts but Aibu to still expect to be paid?

What thread?

user, no I’m not bothered about not being employed but I do want paying for the work I did do.

You should be paid for the hours you worked, but it doesn't sound like you did much work.

It is possible they are still processing your starting paperwork before being able to run payroll for you.

notbeenpaid18 · 22/08/2018 19:18

I did about 60 hours in total.

OP posts:
butterflysugarbaby · 22/08/2018 19:23

Depends on the employer, and what the original agreement was.

Thatsfuckingshit · 22/08/2018 19:25

You did 60 hours? In a week and didn't turn up 2 days.

Nacreous · 22/08/2018 19:33

This was the last thread I replied to.

notbeenpaid18 · 22/08/2018 19:33

It was over the course of a week, yes.

I ‘didn’t show up’ due to unforeseen circumstances. I did obviously let them know in advance.

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 22/08/2018 19:38

60 hours when you missed 2 shifts? Wow!

I’m sure the money will turn up eventually.

notbeenpaid18 · 22/08/2018 19:39

Well yes - but I really do need it this week. I have no money at all.

OP posts:
OnlyFoolsnMothers · 22/08/2018 19:41

60hrs over 2 weeks or 1

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 22/08/2018 19:48

I don’t think there will be anyway to get it to you sooner. If they were late putting it into payroll or whatever there isn’t much you can do.

WutheringFrights · 22/08/2018 19:49

If you look at the OPs other thread it looks like over just 4 days........

notbeenpaid18 · 22/08/2018 19:52

There isn’t another thread.

One week only

OP posts:
Thatsfuckingshit · 22/08/2018 19:55

Are you seriously saying that, that isn't you on the other thread?

AnoukSpirit · 22/08/2018 19:55

I used to work for a company some years ago, and things are very tight this summer so I agreed to pick up some shifts as I am off in August (my main job is in education.) Pay should be weekly, on Friday.

After three days work, I had an emergency as my child was unwell. I took that day off.

Two days later my car broke down (the job is car based.) They were pretty angry.

I didn’t get a payslip (normally you get a payslip on Wednesday and paid Friday.) I queried this and was told I had to return my uniform first. I did so and asked about money and was told it would be sorted.

I feel like I’m not going to get paid - does anyone know what I can do?

Certainly sounds identical circumstances. How did you manage 60 hours in 3 days?

WutheringFrights · 22/08/2018 19:56

Sorry notbeenpaid18 I was mistaken - I followed the link that the previous poster linked to and the situation/days/pay days/ill child/ car breaking down are identical so I also assumed it was your thread .....

Namechangeforthiscancershit · 22/08/2018 19:58

That is some crazy co incidence!

notbeenpaid18 · 22/08/2018 20:31

Erm, what?

OP posts:
PattiStanger · 22/08/2018 20:32

How do you know when the payslips usually come out if you only worked there a week?

LEMtheoriginal · 22/08/2018 20:36

Sorry but i think you are going to have to chalk this up to experience

Gazelda · 22/08/2018 20:38

I'm puzzled at how you did 60hours work in 1 week, but that's by the by.
Who have you been querying this with? It sounds like you need to go higher up the chain of management. You've done the work, they owe you pay. Or an explanation.

Nacreous · 22/08/2018 20:40

60*7.50 = £450 is not an amount I would be prepared to chalk up to experience.

Employment tribunals are free. I wouldn’t let this go.

notbeenpaid18 · 22/08/2018 20:42

I worked for them before patti

No way lem, I did the work!

gazelda starting very early and finishing very late!

OP posts:
PattiStanger · 22/08/2018 20:46

I've followed the link to the other thread, it's so obviously you OP, why are you lying about it?

Sofizzy · 22/08/2018 21:04

You did 60hours in 3 days? That's 20 hours a day!!! Really??!?
