DH is off this week and I'm not. Dd is 2.5. He's bored of being at home and asked me for suggestions of places they could go things to do. So far I have suggested:

Zoo, we have 3 locally
Park
Soft play
Swimming
Train to London to do the museums (we are 1hr 20mins away, but dd loves the train)
The beach, 10 minute walk from our house
Picnic somewhere

All have been dismissed as being a faff or places will be too busy because it is summer holidays. AIBU to tell him to either suck it up and go out or spend the next week sitting indoors/in the garden entertaining dd Grin

He has a car and although we don't have an unlimited budget we can afford a couple of days out if he took a picnic lunch.

I should have said that he's at home with dd 3/4 days a week, this isn't his first day off with her this summer! Just today he's started moaning!

If he's home with her 3 days per week he must have as much knowledge as you about what's available to do, sounds as though he's just having a moan.

When mine were little they were early risers - if your DD is then my top tip is to get up and out first thing. Go to places like the beach at 7am Grin and anywhere with openning hours as soon as they open. If places don't open before 10am don't go during school holidays. If you arrive before 9am you can leave when the crowds descend and having already been out it's easier to be content in the garden the rest of the day plus a slim but better than usual chance of a rare nap happening

YANBU. Seems ridiculous to not leave the house all summer because everywhere will be busy. If you go early it won't be too busy anyway.

I think he is just having a moan @blueskiesandforests he has as much knowledge about what there is to do. I wouldn't mind but we work opposite shifts to each other, so I have dd just as much (if not more) than him, and I cope! Like you said @IceCreamFace you just get up and out early!

Bloody hell, beach 10mins walk away, what's he got to moan about. Envy Your DH really has it easy. No car park or traffic to worry about. Flask, blanket, bucket and spade and dig on the sand for an hour then walk back home for lunch and avoid the midday sun/crowds. Repeat late afternoon or go to the park for half an hour on the swings.
