To ask how you deal with insomnia

I go through bouts of insomnia every now and then. Nowadays I just kind of accept it and try not to let it bother me.

I've tried taking piriton, cocodamol, natural sleep tablets, reading, listening to the sound of rain on an app. Sometimes these work. A lot of the time they don't.

I listen to audio books or listen to rather than watch catch up tv but something gentle like travel or history programmes with a presenter with a soothing voice

I often wake at 3 4 or 5 am. I've accepted now that it takes 1 hour for me to fall back asleep so I read or mumsnet until I feel my eyes getting tired. Because I've accepted it I no longer get that horrid frustrated feeling that makes it worse.
