Had a 2 week pass and fallen in love with ours- fantastic clubs for dc, pool, gym and the lifestyle etc.
We only live 5 mins away and I think we’d use it most if not every sat and sun plus couple of times in the week.
It will be a chunk of our money every month but I’d be willing not go on holiday next year to pay for it.
But really is it worth it or am I being fooled by it all and how much we’d get out of it as a family it’s not cheap at all.

I think if expensive, unless you really want to/can swim. If you’re just floating around in the pool it seems like a lot of money to me when you can float around in a pool anywhere. My parents are members so I’ve been lots of times with the DC when they get free passes.

I pay £35 for my local gym, it has a pool, restaurant, bar and lovely changing rooms and a spa. Can’t ask for more. Especially as the DC are young enough to be free.

I've been a member of all the local gyms over the years, and whilst DL is the priciest, in our area it is definitely the best.
I've recently retired, and have taken out an off-peak membership at £80 per month. This is not cheap, but actually not far off the standard monthly fee for other local gyms.

I am at an age where I need to exercise regularly to keep the weight off and stay flexible. I'll get my money's worth through a daily swim, pilates once or twice a week and general use of the gym itself. Plus there is a lovely outdoor pool which I have used recently - like being at a hotel.

TBH even if you just do classes it works out not a bad price.

Friends who work full time come down three evenings a week and Saturday or Sunday
they do three or four classes (Bodypump, spin, yoga, pilates type stuff)
and a quick workout
and a quick swim

bearing in mind that yoga classes are around £10 an hour round here
and spin and pump are a tad tricky to run in a church hall

its an economic way to stay healthy

We joined tears and years ago when we couldn’t really afford it. On that basis I swore to go at least 10 times each month. I put a cross on my kitchen calendar every time I visit to keep tabs.

I’m still doing it after 20 plus years!

I go less now due to an injury but still love my membership. I also read my kindle in the spa pool for hours on end. I don’t believe anyone else has mentioned that bonus yet 🤣

I find it extremely friendly. I just wish we’d bought a lifetime membership when the club opened ( we couldn’t possibly have afforded it but we’ve paid well over that by now).
