Terry was a happily married, decent man, no longer here to comment on this, so I do think its offensive to his remaining family.

The bat was a thing on here a few years back, trying to get people to click on it thinking it was an actual link. It was probably about the same time as the Points of View photo, and it reminded me of it

At the time I couldn't understand why Madonna had chosen someone 'old' to do the interview rather than someone younger and edgy like Jonathan Ross - now I look at that photo and think how young TW looks.

As an adult I listened to Sir Terry everyday and loved him - he sort of played up the bemused British Gent to her OTT flirting didn't he? With some Eric Morecambe looks to camera.

I hope he'd think this was funny and cheeky rather than disrespectful - I'm sure I remember him joking about the POV thing on the radio

I remember Terry Wogan laughing at himself on his breakfast show the day after that episode of POV was aired. He lost it when one of his TOGs wrote in to tell him ‘they seem have left the mole in your moleskin trousers’

I just watched the interview. It was in Cannes (TW: “we’ve come to the Mediterranean!”) which explains the shirt. It was a not bad interview; I remember it now. To the PP that referenced Madge’s English accent, that was the Parky interview whilst she was married to Guy Richie.

I know some people found it a bit offensive but this thread has made me all nostagic for Wake up to Wogan. What a great show it was. TW was a natural wit and always ready to laugh at himself, definitely top of my fantasy dinner party list.

Ah Sir Terry, I still miss him. I used to actually look forward to my morning 30 mile commute when his show was on.

You can still listen to the Janet and John stories on YT, they were usually very rude!

I knew him. (I feature in a J&J story, too. They were all real people).
