DD has brought home a bastard of a stomach bug from nursery. I was struck down Monday night and still in bed now. I work 3 days and have missed my whole 'second week back' after mat leave.
I stopped vomiting 4am on Wednesday but my stomach is still griping and rolling now, making constant audible gurgles and it's stopping me getting any sleep at all.
I've tried ginger and peppermint teas, dry toast, gaviscon, paracetomol for the cramps. Nothing is helping and I need some sleep while DD is in nursery today. I feel so weak and I need to improve by tomorrow as we have an important hospital appointment I need to take her to and nobody who can come along with me to help.
Hit me with your amazing motherly home remedies!

Buscopan. Works by relaxing your intestines, I was prescribed them after my gallbladder got infected but always have them in now for stomach pain of any kind.

Lots of fluids to flush it through you. And rest.

Oh no - we had this recently and it is vile Flowers

I had to take DD into hospital and the only thing that worked for me was making myself start eating normally again. Over about 12/18 hours I had tiny snacks that I ate and increased to small meal size: pom bears, light digestives, popchips, Lucozade, dairylea and veggie ham on toast, lentil soup, etc. Not brilliant but it got me settled enough that I could get her to hospital ok.

I hope you're feeling better soon!

Maybe you should ring the hospital and check whether you'll be welcome at the clinic? They may be very keen for you NOT to be there at all and want to reschedule....

Not knowing what the appointment is for, could this bug, given how ill its made you feel, not be dangerous if introduced ivy a hospital environment.....?

buscopan or colpermin for the cramps.
