Broodiness with a 12 day old

Why can't my vag heal in peace and my uterus contract back down to size without this overwhelming feeling of broodiness?
I have the most beautiful 12 day old little lady who is so content and a fab 6 year old little man. I always said I would be done after this one but I had the perfect birth after a traumatic first and she's so amazing I just want to be pregnant again.

I remember that feeling very well after having my second child. I felt like a superhero after I had a completely different and much less traumatic birth than with my son.
Add in a huge surge of hormones and I was very broody despite having a newborn.
It wore off very quickly and now 8 years later I am totally done and happy with my two.
Congratulations!

I think it’s normal to feel like that so soon after birth. I certainly did!

Hormones etc

That feeling will pass.
ALL feelings eventually pass.

I felt the same when DS was about 8 weeks old - when he wasn't my squishy baby anymore 😭

FlirtyRomanticToast · 14/08/2018 15:50

Congratulations on your beautiful little baby Smile

I felt like that until my son was around 3 months old! Then when he started with being a toddler that feeling had well and truly disappeared! Grin

I'm broody now that DS is nearly 6 months old, which I know is bad as I should just be enjoying DS and his development. Which I do of course, just missing the newborn days!
I didn't feel it at 12 days though, was just a hormonal wreck who had to sit on a cushion... Definitely no broodiness then Grin

Totally normal! I could have had septuplets right after giving birth to each of my singletons. Thank goodness I didn’t! Grin

First two weeks was just heaven. Then came the boom! A few sleepless nights is all it took to take me right back to ‘F***ck I’m so drained!’. Grin

Congratulations on your gorgeous baby! Smile

Being pregnant again would not not only mean another labour + birth + gorgeous newborn, but later another baby, toddler, child, teenager, student, then young adult to look after, who will turn into a grown-up who goes on needing a wide range of services until you die.

Does that put you off? Grin
