to enjoy silence!

I am a teacher so my working day doesn't involve periods of silence unless a class are doing a test Grin

At home, I have DH and 4 year old DS who is amazing but talks constantly!

I was awake early and I am currently sat with a cup of tea while they are still sleeping. The house is silent! I have no desire for breakfast t.v. or radio.

AIBU to just enjoy the silence while hoping they sleep for at least another hour Grin DH and DS can't get up without turning on the t.v or radio!

I might start getting up early for the rest of the hols to enjoy my silence!

Used to love a bit of silence until Tinnitus left me with a constant ringing so now I like a bit of ambient noise to drown it. Careful with headphones kids!

I get up at 5am for exactly this reason! I love the peace and quiet, enjoy having a cup of tea and wandering around the garden if it's nice.

YANBU. The older I get the more I need silence. Everyone else in my house seems to need background noise. Hmm Am also a teacher, I am often 'talked out' by the end of the day.

I love silence. Ds2 has, to put it politely, been perseverating all day.

My poor head.

I love it. It means I'm not plugged into anything demanding my response, be that human or digital.
Bliss.

I sometimes wear headphones with nothing coming out of them. It dims the noise of the world a bit and means people don't talk to you. See also ear muffs in winter Smile
