Just that really. I have one friend who is beginning to annoy me with their 'idea ' of things. They see someone who owns a business 'ooh they must be millionaires' someone has a new car so they're 'rich'

Aibu to think these things don't make anyone rich :S that experiences and life is different for anybody and these things aren't black and white

@Bombardier25966 work away.. when you've nothing else to say, the vocabulary police come out. Get over yourself, as if these things really matter in the grand scheme of things Biscuit

I have a friend like this. Absolutely obsessed with how much money other people have. We can walk around it’ll be a constant stream of ‘look, she’s carrying a Chanel bag. She must be rich. How much do you think she’s worth?’

Does my head in.

I am not sure I understand this thread but if your friend is irritating you, you should probably see less of each other.

Other than that, I am not really sure what is going on or how it affects you Confused

Someone I encounter - don’t really ‘know’ although my friends do is a multi billionaire - drives an old Land Rover, has several houses including an enormous estate ...

Friend of my late dad was a multi millionaire, lived in an ordinary house and drove rusty old cars, also dressed like a tramp - takes all sorts.

Therewillbe7 · 12/08/2018 17:38

My dad came be really bad for it too. ‘Geoff from golf has loads of money, Therewill. He’s always playing at really expensive golf clubs.’ Geoff from golf had to sell his house last year to pay for his gambling debts & now lives in a caravan.

Has my dad learnt? No. Now it’s ‘Tony from the pub has a fortune, he’s just bought X house. The Council are penalising him though because an officer doesn’t like him, so they won’t let him use the outhouse for storage.’ Er, no dad, they won’t approve his application to replace the outhouse with another house for him to rent out. My dad just believes any rubbish anyone tells him, especially with money.

Your friend would think I knew alot of millionaires, me being included. It makes me feel nice.

Jupiter9 · 12/08/2018 17:43

Just wondered if you hated your friend.

shinyredbus · 12/08/2018 17:48

You sound bitter. She’s just making an assumption, it maybe a wrong one, but it maybe right, she’s just pointing out a nice positive, would you rather her say oh wow/ nice fancy car, must have been a thief or money laundered it to afford it?? Or cool, own business, must be on credit and living on beans and toast to afford it?

Are her views hurting anyone really? If you dislike her views, maybe spend less time with your ‘gullible’ friend.

BlueberryPud · 12/08/2018 18:00

They've taken the word gullible out of the dictionary did you know?

I knew that Flightbite

Bimgy85 · 12/08/2018 18:03

@shinyredbus it's a male. If you read it properly you'd know. And thanks for your tip x
