To expect a 5 bed to be cleaned in 3 hours?

Genuinely not sure if this is reasonable or not.

The last cleaner managed this as a fortnightly clean, but I let her go as she was damaging a lot of things.

It's a small 5 bed (130-140m2), with 2 bathrooms. One bedroom is a guest room and tiny (and doesn't need cleaning regularly)

A new cleaner came and only managed the lounge, kitchen, one bathroom and 2 bedrooms in 4 hours. I understand the first clean can take longer, but she said she would want 5 hours a week for our house.

That's out of our budget price wise so wondering on opinions. I'm not expecting a deep clean, mainly just floors and kitchen/bathrooms.

Opps hibble my apologies.

I suppose it depends on what's included in 'cleaned'.

450m2
5 bed 4 bath
6 hours to clean.
But we don't have any stuff on shelves that needs moving to dust.

Barry that is pretty good seeing as your house is more than 3x the size of mine!

Our cleaner is great - reliable, on time, honest.
We're very lucky to have her.

I can't believe that a bunch of predominantly women/mothers on a site 'for parents/by parents' are actually insulting and disbelieving a poster, who has said more than once that she has SBD, and can't clean her house

Here. For the idiots - read and inform yourselves:

For some, it's like someone has kicked you full bloody whack in the vag. Others end up on crutches or in a wheelchair

How DARE anyone question what is a common and well-known issue? That is disablist.

It doesn't fucking matter why the OP is physically disabled enough for her to decide to get a cleaner - or indeed even if she has no physical issues if she wants to hire a cleaner she can.

What she's asking here is Is she expecting too much?, and given this is the second cleaner she has had, it's natural to want to check this out.

Looking at the updates, she was right to.
