Is it reasonable to assume that anything left on top of a bin is intended for the bin ....

..... apparently not when DH leaves a vital dishwasher part on our outside wheely bin!

He's currently on the drive emptying bin and thinking I'm mad for chucking it Grin

That's perfectly reasonable. Why did he put it on there?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 12/08/2018 11:23

Exactly what I asked! He just mumbled about it being temporary

I would think that if it was intended for the bin it would be in the bin. If its on top of the bin it should be left there, or you should ask if its for the bin.

I would assume that if it was meant for the bin he would have put it in the bin. The top of a wheelie bin is a convenient flat space outside, where there probably aren’t too many convenient flat spaces to put things on for a while. I would have asked before putting something I didn’t recognise in the bin. I’m tending to be on his side, sorry.

I think put it nowhere near any bin if you need to keep it. Grin

Is he taking the dishwasher to bits? that would worry me!

BigSandyBalls2015 · 12/08/2018 12:02

Yes dishwasher in bits, but I'd presume anything he wanted to keep would be kept in kitchen!

Slightly worrying that vital parts made it out to the wheely bin 😂😂

Mmmmmm. I would be researching the new dishwasher you will be buying asap (but that's based on my DH's mending electricals ability).

I sometimes put a bottle or something for the recycling on top of the kitchen bin, if it's raining and I don't want to go outside to put it in the recycling bin yet. I'd prefer if it went into the recycling but if DH throws it in the regular bin instead it's not a catastrophe. I wouldn't put something I wanted to keep anywhere near the bin!
