To expect a plug in the sink?

Arrived at holiday villa in Tenerife late last night, dumped our stuff and crashed out in bed. Got up this morning and started to get organised...... there are no plugs!
No plug for kitchen sink (no bowl either) no plug for bidet, washbasin or bath. It's so strange!!!!
The bath plug could possibly be a water saving measure but not the kitchen sink, how can you wash dishes under a running tap? ( no dishwasher)

Might be weird but I only ever wash dishes under a running tap and half the places I've been to don't have plugs either [santa]

I assume and hope they have a shower head in the bath instead?

You can put an upturned cup or something over the plughole and that will work.

Ermmm, no plug in the bath is a bit strange. But no plug in sinks is totally normal. I only encountered the practice of washing dishes in a pool of dirty soapy water and then putting them to dry with no rinsing in the UK. The rest of the world considers it a weird and uniquely British habit. There are countless threads about it here.

I always wash dishes under a running tap and then rinse them.

The bath is the only thing that I'd find it weird to not have a plug for. If there's no shower then use a cloth to block the plughole or carefully use an upturned cup.

Can’t you request some plugs from organiser?

itallhappensforareason · 12/08/2018 11:37

I would find the lack of a plug in the bath more strange than no plug for the kitchen sink. I love nothing more than a relaxing bath when on holiday, would be annoyed if a bath was listed on the list of facilities but was not actually usable due to having no plug! I only ever wash the dishes under a running tap - seems gross to wash things up in a sink full of already dirty water 🤮

Doesn't anyone think it is strange to have no plug in the washbasin? The bath is corner spa bath with just a hand held shower hose.
I appreciate that washing dishes under a running tap is something a lot of people do but I would still expect s plug to he needed at times.
I'm waiting for a response from the owner

I'd definitely expect one in the bathroom wash basin and the bidet.

I'm with you OP, I think plugs are not only normal, but basic minimum requirements for baths, sinks and basins.

somewhereovertherain · 12/08/2018 13:19

Pretty normal. Usually take a universal plug with us.
