To think the pain of trapped wind is in a par with childbirth?

It sounds such an innocuous thing but I suffer from it sporadically and had it last night and it’s bloody agony!!!

Oh and if anyone wants to feel sorry for me, I had a gallstone attack during labour Grin Sad

Not enough gas and air in existence.

Amanduh · 11/08/2018 15:39

Haha no. It can be really bad but not that bad!

There is also medication to help wind.

Theres no way you can compare trapped wind to what's like pushing a watermelon out of your arse.

Definitely! Also people who are regularly constipated find childbirth a doddle, it's as if they've been doing it all their life :-). I speak from experience. After having children my constipation disappeared, I was 'normal', yay - but it did give me some good training.

I've had a c section and a hysterectomy. With both I had trapped wind and I was literally rolling on the bed in pain.

I didn't know what to do with myself, and neither did the hospital staff. Eventually walking it off worked, but it was so painful!

I've had trapped wind caused by a small bowel obstruction. I was hospitalised for 10 days, nil by mouth, with a nasogastric tube for decompression. The pain came in waves not dissimilar to labour pains, leaving me in a cold sweat every time. You have my sympathies!

When I started contractions I thought it was trapped wind! DH said trapped wind doesn't come and go every ten minutes!
