Currently sitting in a very dodgy B&B which rated highly on reviews. Smells dreadful and is creepy as hell.

That's why tourist information is good I normally check their own website and google them. Looking at pics of the actual place and rooms normally is enough also the google review and number has never been wrong for me

I like TA but just read at the bad reviews and ignore the glowing ones as it's so easy to buy good reviews. I'm particularly wary of reviews that sound like they're quoting from the hotel's website. "We liked the €10 buffet breakfast with unlimited coffee and locally sourced ingredients."

I've left lots of reviews. I prefer to write good reviews but think its good to let others know about a bad place especially ones with fake reviews. I've had hotels claim that my bad reviews are fake to try to remove them.

Fake reviews can be teally funny to read. One of my favourites was a restaurant with about 50 extremely glowing reviews, I suspect all written by the same person:
" I have been to all the top restraunts up London but never have I tasted such exquisite cuisine..." it was a little greasy spoon in a row of shops!

I look at the graph as a guide. It’s a quick visual representation and have found it pretty accurate.

I also read the negative reviews and dig into them. Eg if someone was just slightly rude but the accommodation is lovely then I would let that go.
