Just pretend it's a normal driving lesson so you don't put yourself under undue pressure.

Obviously check your mirrors so the examiner can see that you have done so and do so periodically. If you stall etc don't panic as it's how you handle it that they take note of. I stalled and thought I'd failed and calmed down the rest of the test and passed! DH mounted the kerb whilst doing a round the corner and still passed.

Good luck and let us know how you get on 😀👍

I mean check the mirrors in an obvious way, as obviously you would check your mirrors 😆

Take 2 paracetamol and eat a Mars before you set off. Keeps your temp down if you get stressed and gives you an energy boost!!

I have 2 paracetamol left that im keeping for tomorrow i will get a mars bar and maybe a banana too at the shop today. Im praying i do it this time i feel a lot more positive than the first time

Take it one road at a time - by that I mean, don't stress about stuff way ahead in the test. Just focus on progressing to the end of each road safely. That's primarily what they want to see - that you can drive safely. Then do it again... and again. Also - when the examiner gives you a direction - I used that as a prompt to do my mirror-signal checks. I'd listen to the instruction, give a little nod to acknowledge it then immediately set about obviously checking my mirrors and what was going on around me - then signal as appropriate and do what I had to do. Above all - breathe and know you can do this! :-) Good luck!

Congratulations!! Woohoo!! I passed my test later in life and it really is a game changer!! Gives you so many freedoms and options. It allowed me to move in with my now husband and take on a better job, a little further away.

I'm currently de-cluttering, and the fact that I can just load my car up with rubbish and go to the tip, still amazes me!!

If you are still a bit nervous about being on your own, I'd def put green p's on, drivers do give you space and allowances if they know you are fairly new. Just remember to do everything at your own pace and ignore any bullies you come across on the road. We all still come across them...it's their problem, smile to yourself and take your time. Happy driving!!!
