Questions from work when off sick

I'm off sick and have had a couple of texts 'sorry to bother you but can you tell me xyz'... also had someone ask had I thought about working from home instead of being off sick. I don't want to create issues for when I am back, I'm not off with anything mental health related and so I can see why they are asking me. But, part of me thinks sod off and leave me alone!! AIBU to ignore them for now? WWYD?

It doesn’t sound like being off sick is the issue, it’s the not reading your emails (which would be just as annoying if you were well and at work). So no, YANBU. I’d probably answer the question then politely refer them back to the original email.

Personally, I would always prefer colleagues to text me rather than waste time trying to find something/work something out that I could tell them in seconds. And they usually do - both when I’m off sick and on holiday. However, it’s rare and they are always apologetic about it. I think that’s important - I would resent it if it was an expectation.
