So Alllllll day dd has been a moanie girly. ( teething, but normally is OK with it) Didnt want holding. Didn't want putting down, didn't t want to play in her gym thing.. Or even be entertained by her siblings which she normally does. Literally nothing.. Just a general moaning.

It's driven me and dp bonkers. Lol

He's had to Work tonight 6pm-2am.. He left at 5.30pm. She continued her moaning. Took her for a walk and dsd to the park. The moment we got back in she carried on. Poor dsd and ds have had hardly any time with me this eve. (altho they prob secretly love it as they've been allowed on the tablet lol)

Gave last bottle and normally have cuddles, then bed. Sometimes she falls asleep on me when being winded and I put her to bed..sometimes she goes to bed awake

She wouldn't cuddle in and by now was over tired, So put her to bed and she cried. Got her up tried a cuddle. She moaned relentlessly. So I put her back in bed. Let her cry for a few min. Re gave dummy. She spat it out and cried a bit more.. Left her maybe 3-4mins gave dummy. (did this twice) and she went off.
I feel bad that she would of gone to sleep upset. But she's hardly slept today due to the heat.. And teething. ( had given her anything I could to help this)
But it got to the point of me being nearly in tears..

She's normally so good and Content with the odd moan. But I think, teething, Heat etc has got too much for her to take.
?
I want to scoop her up and cuddle her now but I Darent wake her.. I'm not that brave!

Is it chocolate time?

It sounds like she was overtired and just needed to be left alone to settle. A couple of minutes of grumbly crying is nothing to feel bad about(and I am very much against leaving babies to cry!)

Once when my DC2 was about two I did something similar. He was testing so waking up 7 times a night. The eldest was also walking up a couple of times due to the noise. This went on for two months (twelve teeth came out one after another very slowly). One night I was so utterly exhausted and he didn't want anything from me (trued breastfeeding, cuddles, songs, walking him around, nappy change, everything). This was towards the end of the night and I had been up several times before and that particular waking he had been awake over an hour. I put him in his cot, turned off the baby monitor and went back to sleep in my bedroom. I felt awful, truly awful but he was fine.

*one, he had his teeth and was sleeping properly by two thank god!

autumnleaf1 · 04/08/2018 22:39

Sounds like she's over tired to me too. Do you breast feed at all? I found that would get mine to sleep when they were particularly grumpy. Also lying down next to them/ putting them in your bed got mine to sleep faster than in a cot.

We've all had days like that. It's horrible. Over tired children are exhausting!

autumnleaf1 · 04/08/2018 22:41

I mean putting them in my bed, not yours! Stupid typo

Anbesol was a sanity saver for me when DD was teething. Much better than teething gel as it doesn’t slide off the gums. Also slightly raising the head of the cot/mattress with a towel underneath might help depending on her age. When they lay flat the blood pools in the gums making the pain worse. A little angle on the mattress helped DD.

Other than that doesn’t sound like she went to bed upset, just over tired. Sleep is the best thing for them so don’t feel bad.

Thank you.
She was definitely over tired. As 3am.this morning she was so hot it woke her up and she wouldn't go bk down.
She norm goes 9/9.30-8am
Not BF. She had all her bottle tho.

Currently laid on the end of my bed, eating a bar of chocolate, watching her snore her little head off..

Sometimes they just get overtired and there's nothing you can do for them. Leaving her was probably the best approach. She won't remember anything in the morning.

Enjoy your chocolate 🍫

Yes, my two have been up all hours all week & Im 14 weeks pregnant with nausea & tiredness.
Youngest woke up second he went into cot & then again when I sat down with my hot dinner.

I brought him down, sat him down on the floor next to toys & he laid down & went to sleep.

Feeling absolutely guilty as I stomped upstairs swearing in my head. & have barely managed to do anything with them all day but OH has been brilliant.

It was burning hot here 30 at 10 with teething baby, medicine spat out lots of screaming she was just crawling on the bed biting my nipple, knee, foot and face was driving me nuts had my sister (staying with family godsend!) look after her for 10min she went straight off to sleep after. It’s hard when they are teething and it’s hot be kind to yourself and remember your a good mum x
