Help my hoover has just died. What to buy next.

So the one that just bit the bullet was a Vax, I'm never having another Dyson so does anyone have a Shark or Miele? Would you recommend them?

I'm jumping on too...! I'm looking for a cordless hoover. Over here (not UK) the Shark is much cheaper (£100 less) than the others- and seems better with the power packs- so between the Gtech Power Floor/ Shark or a Dyson... Which is it?
I've always assumed the Shark is crap because I've only seen it advertised on those dodgy JML boards we get in petrol stations here, and that Dyson must be better- but the comments on here (brexit vote from Dyson!!! Shark being good!) have turned my hoover searching life upside down. Yes, I am that boring.

After multiple dysons I decides to go for shark. Best decision ever. Shark is the best.

Another vote for the shark - I got one with a bendy arm so it slides under sofas etc- it’s fab!

I think my Miele cat and dog is fab but my friend swears by her shark with which I have no experience so interesting to see what everyone thinks!

a shark! it's brilliant and the liftaway bit means you can hoover under furniture and beds and it's easy to manoeuvre and lighter than our old dyson. It has made our old carpet look a lot better too as it has sucked up all the grime we didn't know was there until we got it

Oh my god, I was looking at the US website (we also have dollars here...) and the shark is not available in this country!!! We have bloody JML but they don't sell it here!! Aaaarrrrggghhh
Who knew buying a hoover could take up so much of my Sunday?!!
