To want to rip my own ears off

Sitting next to fil whilst he tucks into a Chinese takeaway, making the most hideous noises and my ears are bleeding!

Anybody else get filled with an unreasonable amount of rage when having to be subjected to the most awful noise known to man with no place to escape?!

Is there a worse noise than food slapping around the inside of someone else's mouth?

It's been going on for over 20 minutes...someone send help!

I have misophonia too OP - eating sounds, whispering and touch-typing are my worst! I end up crying and having to leave the room Sad

I cannot bare listening to other people eat.

If my husband is eating late on his own, I have to leave the room, or put the tv on to drown the noise out.

My mum smacks her lips and doesn't always shut her mouth when she eats - that makes me want to vom.

Funnily enough, my child's noisy eating doesn't bother me?!

It's not just eating either, lots of sounds make me so angry.....

Yanbu. It makes my blood boil. I can't be around it.

It's driving me utterly mad! Almost to the point where I'm dreading going to bed because I know what's coming later. DD used to make a "mneeerrrrr" noise when she was falling asleep in the buggy, but thankfully at 4 she doesn't do that anymore. Many a time I sat on a park bench sobbing whilst she "mneeerrrr"d herself to sleep!

The other noise is sniffing. DH and DD are incapable of blowing their noses properly and it puts me right on edge. Sometimes I have to leave the room...

Slurping. Cannot stand it. It actually makes me feel a bit queasy when I hear it. No, no, no >>Envy (not envy)

I understand the food thing too.

Anyone in my house is not allowed to eat anything unless the tv is on. I can't stand it. I had to leave a cafe last week because it was so quiet and the person on the next table was very slowly eating crisps and rustling the bag.

Note an eating noise exactly but I cannot tolerate the dog licking himself. It's a really loud exaggerated licking sound and he licks so much! Luckily he will stop if I tell him to but I don't like to as he does need to clean himself
