To wonder if home educators would have wanted to be educated at home?

Genuinely intended. I have noticed lots of home educators due to AMA.

Would you have been happy to have had your parents teach you?

We home ed, and certainly would have preferred it at secondary. I don't think I had a good enough relationship with my parents to have enjoyed it. But whilst I wasn't bullied, and was academically successful I was miserable and insecure.

My 8 yr old has decided to go to school in September which makes me uncertain but it is her choice.

I'm not sure. I am pretty damaged by my school experience and think anything would be preferable.

However, my parents aren't very nice. And my mum doesn't believe in child led education. She would have sat me at a table and tried to "teach" me using archaic methods.

On balance, it would have been better than school. But only just.

I tried everything to stay at home. School was ok when I went but I wasn't challenged, I was bored and I got into trouble a lot.
I home ed now and I would have loved to be home ed.
