AIBU am in work on a 12hr shift and every single shift my co worker is nodding off and on from at least 12am till 5am. To be fair when stuff needs doing they get up fairly quick and do do the work thats required...to an extent.

The constant head bopping followed by a loud snore is annoying me its every single shift I work with them ....there doing it right now! Blush we are even allowed to sleep on break for an hour if we feel like we need it so i just dont understand.

AIBU to shout WAKE UP!!!!

I completely agree shite. It’s almost importantly a serious matter of safety and furthermore as well as taking the piss out of your colleagues it’s no better than theft to lie there sleeping whilst being paid to stay awake! I hope the guy in the OP gets caught and dismissed for gross misconduct

Most importantly

I'm still stunned at the "get some ear plugs" comment from @Rebecca36. Can you imagine if a resident had fallen and was crying out for help from down the corridor but no one heard them because one is asleep and one is wearing ear plugs? That would be two people without a job and potentially an elderly, vulnerable person lying seriously injured or ill for hours. Would you be happy for any of your friends or relatives to be cared for by sleeping members of staff or those wearing ear plugs?

Is it a responsive role rather than proactive? Ie respond to buzzers with little j between or a checklist of work to do throughout which is peppered with buzzer calls? Could they be struggling with boredom rather than tiredness?
