To consider moving again?

Made a big move and we miss old and more expensive area. I don't even know if I have the energy for the upheaval again but would you consider these benefits worth the extra 500 mortgage p/m (and 5y extra on mortgage)? Aibu to want to move back for:

Local playground/public pitch and sea within 5 min from house (car journey for all but a convenience store in new spot). I hadn't realised how much I'd miss these simple things with two DC!

Large park/demesne within 10min cycle- leafy woods, large playground and weekly park run (none locally now)

Excellent primary and secondary (both fairly good locally also)

Better shops and 10miles from major city, museums, restaurants, theatres etc

Two good jobs both within 20min commute (one good job here and I'm likely to be kept busy until I secure one)

Cons: no family nearby and fewer friends but v close ones, though they are a good 20)30 min drive/not part of daily life.

Aibu to consider going through it all plus costs again?!

How long have you been in new place?

How long have you been in the new area?

It takes some time to settle in and adapt.

A year...but I miss the green and the easy access to open space especially with two kids..

I mean greenery rather than a green!

obvious question, but why did you move in the first place? There must have been compelling reasons at the time. What has happened to those reasons?

mikado1 · 31/07/2018 23:22

I had a romantic notion of returning to home town and am disillusioned now.. was v v unsure at time but because it was always long term plan, mistakenly followed through. There are some positives for sure, Inc financially, should I soldier on?
